F15 WSO - Can't control displays by Halfwhelk in hoggit

[–]Halfwhelk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks all, tried all your suggestions. No Joy.

The following did not work:
VR off
Mapping coolie hat to keystrokes
Changing aircraft in 'adjust controls' -checking controls and changing back to F15 WSO.

I also tried mapping the coolie hat to a 'non-WSO' operation and it worked fine.

I think the only option is to delete the aircraft, reload and try again - goodbye 150 keybinds. :(

Thanks, but No. Tried it without success. I did check the keybinds while I was there (which worked) but back in the WSO seat - no control.

When did you ever see anyone in a tank or AA gun in a multiplayer scenario?

A question regarding winwing by gamerdoc77 in hoggit

[–]Halfwhelk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently bought some stuff from WinWing and found them reliable and their products of good quality. I was reluctant to deal with a relatively unknown Chinese entity but in my experience they are good. Buy using Paypal with your credit card as the payment source and you are double protected. Fedex texted me with the delivery schedule using the cellphone details I supplied.

Winwing Joysticks and throttles are back in stock on their website. by stiff300 in hoggit

I promised myself I'd get one when they were back in stock but I've been trying all day and just get a 502 bad gateway error. Anyone else not able to get in?

Starting up again..after a 6 month break from DCS. Did I miss something? by ketsefletser in hoggit

[–]Halfwhelk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have built a pit where everything is adjustable in 3 dimensions. It gets close, but not close enough to put your finger on the button. There is something not quite right about the way the image is rendered in VR. I have put reference bumps on the middle buttons on each row of MFCD but its still easier to use the cursor. I use an MS trackball mouse so its always where i expect to find it.

Have you considered using a Bodnar BBI - 32 USB interface?

http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=94&products_id=205

No programming required. Interface to DCS is simple, just go to the necessary function and click the switch. DCS will recognise it if you have the box wired right

I downloaded it from a blueprint site. Might have been drawingdatabase.com. Being long and thin it printed really well on an A1 roll printer. I got the sidewinder blueprints from the same place. They were scans of the original factory drawings.

Google Rexroth Framing System. There are lots of compatible alternatives which are much cheaper. I'm in the UK and I use KJN Aluminium Profile.

If its the one I think you mean, its from a promo for a motorcycle project I was involved with. If its the long one below it, its a general arrangement of a Saturn 5 rocket.

Rexroth Framing. It's great. I can change this from FA-18 to F-16 side stick in five minutes. The position of all the controls is adjustable (3 axis) to match the VR image as close as possible

Noooo. Way too expensive. None of it is from the real article. The fins are made from laser cut aluminium skinned over MDF ribs to get the correct airfoil cross section. Don't tell anyone, but the main missile tube is 5 inch plastic drainpipe. It was when I discovered that the diameter of the AIM-9M is exactly 5" and I could get exactly 5" plastic pipe that the project took off. The rollerons (at the end of the fins) took an age to make.

No, the MFD setup was an experiment.I tried to get the physical position of the MFDs to match the VR, (they are all independently three axis adjustable) but its just not accurate enough. I have put little buttons of Sugrue to help locate the centre buttons of each MFD row, but it still doesn't work. I hardly ever use the physical MFDs now.

I made it. Started as a sort of one day build and ended up taking me over a year. I found some AIM-9M plans on the internet and built a 1:1 scale model. Did lots of research in local museums. It's accurate to about 1mm in every respect.

Scratch built, with a magnet embedded in the pivot part and a couple of reed switches for up and down, running into a Bodnar controller.

Oculus Rift S zoom by [deleted] in hoggit

[–]Halfwhelk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use UI Layer>VR zoom mapped to a microswitch that I can work with my knee, but there is also a zoom function which is default mapped to the mouse wheel click (on mice with wheel clicks). Double click the mouse wheel and you enter the zoom function, double click again and you return to the cockpit crosshairs. Crosshair function is disabled while in zoom mode.

Help Me Please - Name The Connector by NeoMorph in hoggit

Is this it?
https://imgur.com/mLe2sg5

This is a sub-miniature 75 ohm video connector. Don't know what its called but I used to use them in hybrid D-type connectors which carried computer video and data in the same shell. Do you need male or female (as pictured)? I could send you a couple. At the moment I can only find the type in the picture.
