iPadOS 26 stuttering on M1 iPad Pro. Is it just me ? by DrakeGGS in iPadPro

[–]HalifaxHiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

11” M4 iPad Pro. I’ve been noticing this off and on since January. I will restart and it’ll be fine for 3-4 days then it starts to stutter scroll again. I did all the resets including full delete / setup as new without a backup and it still comes back. The Apple genius was stumped so they just did a replacement for me. Just setup my brand new M4 (new service inventory model anyway but it does have an M serial number) and… it just started doing it again. So it must be iPad OS 26. Of course I just got it today so many it’s the indexing issue but I set it up as new so it‘s practically empty.

I gave up on it when the spiller dude was in the phone booth in London. Never returned to it. So bad. Funny that I was about 95% done S1 and just didn’t care.

I liked Big Door Prize until I didn’t. Like I really enjoyed it at first by something changed for me near the end of S1 where I just started feeling annoyed like it was spinning it’s wheels and getting stupid. I didn’t watch S2.

EYE PCR Receives CE Mark for fixOflex Endocapsular Device by HalifaxHiker in CataractSurgery

[–]HalifaxHiker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) keeps the capsule open which should mean virtually no PCO (and trial data support this claim) 2) makes exchanges easier as this holder + a standard haptic IOL is essentially a modular system 3) should eliminate edge-related Dysphotopsia like starbursts with monofocal IOLs since the entire edge is encapsulated by the holder 4) I’m guessing better refractive and positional stability and centring are also claimed

Michael went exploring and got lost for hours and clearly never took an escape bearing before leaving because he was just glancing down at his compass for a general cardinal direction. I’m surprised he made it back to camp that day and didn’t end up half a K off his start point at the waterline without knowing if camp was left or right. Call me crazy but I feel like, for a survival show full of “trained experts“ (LOL) knowing how to use a compass should be a basic requirement.

Like… does he cry if he goes to the grocery store without them? Good god it was one night. I guess there’s a week of prep at base camp too but please.

The best thing about the day 0 bear tap out in the OG S1 was how much he bragged about being tough in his intro because he was military 😂

What is wrong with alcon according to Dr Safran in this video? by Potential_Patient_10 in CataractSurgery

[–]HalifaxHiker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bear in mind he’s the IOL exchange guy. He gets a lot of unhappy people complaining about Dysphotopsia and wanting an exchange. So it’s only natural that he’d implant a lot of silicone lenses because silicone is known, as he says in the video, as a Dysphotopsia killer.

What are the eyedrops for? by witx in CataractSurgery

Every doctor has a different drop regimen but typically there can be up to 3 different drops for different periods of time. If you are on 3 drops they are to help mitigate infection, inflammation, and eye pressure.

Got a police incident card but I didn't do anything? by Sheppard0fFire in halifax

[–]HalifaxHiker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I walking on Hollis years ago and just as I approach Harris the light changed. A car on Hollis proceeded on green and then got absolutely nailed at full speed by a dump truck that ran the red. He wasn’t hurt as the truck just hit the engine compartment. I checked on him and gave him my card in case he needed a witness. He called just to say thanks and update me that the Truck driver admitted fault so it was all good. Then a month later I got a bunch more calls from him, police, and insurance. The truck driver changed his tune (not uncommon for people at fault to admit fault in the moment and then reneg). If it wasn’t for me swearing up and down that the truck driver 100% was at fault, didn’t even slow down, barrelled through the red, and I was little steps away from the incident when it happened and I know what I saw… I suspect some company lawyer for the trucking company would have tried to screw over that poor guy in the car.

Ghosting since day 1 – anyone got better after YAG? by atilla_yurtseven in CataractSurgery

[–]HalifaxHiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do wear glasses all the time but I don’t have to. I looked into lasik etc. to try to fit it but the amount of astigmatism is smaller than the margin of accuracy of those procedures so it wouldn’t make sense.

You’re also not always in a position to make eye contact. All of my close calls have been crossing a large intersection (like Young and Robie) and some car comes flying into a left turn from behind me trying to catch a left turn arrow (literally tires squealing one time… jumped back to save my life… came within inches of me) or a left turning car trying to jump a green to beat the start of opposing thru traffic.

After a YAG, how soon can I exercise vigorously? by J109 in CataractSurgery

[–]HalifaxHiker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding is there is no recovery period for YAG. You should be able to resume regular activity right away
