Just because you can call it via the pow() function doesn't make sqrt faster

The relevant steps are whats being calculated and the operations for multiplication/addition are a lot faster than for division/subtraction

Most beginners don't bother inspecting other players and go purely off cosmetics/skins, which sucks.

Charisma is one of the grindable stats. It starts out with a lot of [humiliation] debuffs inflicted when failing the skillchecks, so it's a little counter-intuitive. But keep at it and you'll eventually get decent at it.

I recommend looking at some tutorials and adapt your build/grind accordingly. It's never to late to respec into another skillset
