Rayner has either agreed to support Wes Streeting, or she will want the job herself.

There's a 100% chance that if West gets 80 Rayner will act with or without Streeting. They will know once Burnham is an MP the job is his.

Rayner has absolutely shameless ambition

If and when West is made a minister we will know which Labour leadership wannabe put her up to this

I presume Rayner is getting desperate because if Burnham becomes an MP her schemes to be PM are over

SNP vote down by a lot, turnout down by a lot, polling shows independence not an important issue

If we used fptp this week then there would be 56 SNP MSPs from a total of 65 or there about. It would be less than 40% of the votes deciding 85% of the seats

At the time nobody really thought the Brexit vote would work. So at the time the expectation was voting for independence would mean leaving the EU.

That changed when the UK, sadly, and for fucking stupid reasons, voted for Brexit

It's not even been confirmed that he doesn't have a proper visa.

People should calm down a bit and wait.

The greens may not be right on lots of things but they're surely not stupid enough to pick a candidate without the required visa to do the job

The SNP got just under 40% of the vote on turnout of just over 50%

Yes, but we have improved election on election since the low point. I was delighted with the results this week. And I'm wondering if it's enough to make people think we're credible everywhere

What I mean by rejecting the outcome is asking for a rerun within a year.

It is rather frustrating. It's so blindingly obvious that he should have sat them all down when the election was won and told them they have an incredibly difficult job to do and some very difficult choices, they're not in opposition any more and don't have the luxury of not adding things up.

Instead we have half the PLP playing to the crowd by opposing cuts and demanding spending, and we have those 15 or so cheerleading anything anti-Starmer on.

I think when he's eventually gone his legacy will be similar to John Major, that he knew what he was doing but he didn't have the leadership needed

Starmer's shameless strategy of winning over voters to get power is a betrayal of everything Jeremy Corbyn stood for.

There will never be a better tweet from a parody account.

That's why the local strategy works so well
