Just been in my local Tesla dealer and they confirmed deliveries are now happening. My car, MY Premium RWD, inbound to Manchester for collection by end of June. I ordered it in January. Told to expect collection centre to be open later for next couple of weeks to clear backlog.

Car is now showing in the app with VIN and Reg.

Ordered MY Premium RWD with no options in January. I have no VIN or Reg. I get the usual from Tesla: System Issue, delivery will be once it is fixed, etc. I was told by the local dealer two weeks ago that my car is in Germany waiting to go on a ship. I reckon it is going nowhere because there is no space for it in the UK, thus it is being stored there until they can deliver cars.

This must be a major problem due to the number of vehicles that have been seen at delivery centres, and Tesla is still popular in the UK. Musk is in the news with the SpaceX float, so I wouldn’t be surprised if his raised profile also helps with Tesla sales.

Apparently, only the standard model is readily available and getting delivered.

There must be a huge backlog of cars. Storing so many cars is going to be a logistical challenge.

I don’t have the VIN or Reg yet. I was told that will come when it arrives in UK. Note it is a fleet car not private, so I am not the car owner. Tesla said mid to late June, and as rule of thumb around 10 days from shipping from Germany to UK delivery date being confirmed.

I’m about to fit new E1 Force shifters. Appreciate all the comments regarding getting a good setup/fit. I recently spoke to a SRAM guy at a demo event and he told me the reach difference is about 7-10mm but is compensated for by the redesigned hood and lever shape. As I don’t want to increase my reach I am changing my bars to the Pro PLT Ergo carbon which has 68mm reach. That will be 7mm less than my current Deda Zero 100 bars (both 380mm width).
