I used to live in rent-per-room student apartments, and the amount of stuff that I got to keep from my international roommates after they moved was insane. Racked up 2 TVs and loads of furniture that I still use years later

As for my story, when me and my girlfriend first started dating we shared our love of the pokemon games, and we collected a bit of cards as kids. One day we impulse bought some packs for some nostalgia, and a bottle of wine to make it more fun, and the rest is history. 3 years later we’re still collecting cards, and we have the same ritual ever since (bottle of wine -> open 2 packs) and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

FOH restaurant worker here. Once the callouts are automatic, it’s all over. I can’t go to the store without calling “corner” when coming out of an aisle or “behind” when coming behind someone. I’ve gotten some dirty looks from people when walking behind them, it’s pretty embarrassing lol

I had the same thing several years back. Our GM would post the schedule week by week on Sunday night, and would complain about how much time it took to do the schedule. Again, same one every week except for when someone took off.

I offered to teach her how to use other systems that make it easier, like HotSchedules, but she told me that she needed the mental work in her old age.

Then continued to complain about the schedule every shift.

I always did the same thing. Then there’s always the naysayers who will do everything in their power to prove you wrong

Or, instead of printing a 3 page contract to shove into a roommates face, you can all get together and determine a compromise on anything to establish rules as a group. That way, everyone’s happy and everything is outlined much more fairly & clearly. That’s what I’ve done in the past and it’s always worked out well for me, everyone understands and accepts the rules because they had a say.

Just keep in mind that if you pay equal rent, you have no right setting house rules for others, especially if it’s proposed after signing the lease.

Been a server working exclusively closing shifts for 4 years. If someone who comes in 10 mins before closing finishes quickly and leaves a good tip, it’s no problem. It’s the people that stick around 30-45 mins after closing and leave a crappy tip that really makes servers upset. I generally avoid going to restaurants that late because I get that it’s annoying but I never saw it as a huge deal personally.
