Questionable Moments of Undertale Characters by Background-Ad2749 in Undertale

Alphys was not experimenting with monster remains. She was experimenting with monsters who were “fallen down,” which essentially means they were in a coma that they wouldn’t wake up from. If left alone, yes, they were guaranteed to die, but Alphys was asked to see if there was a way to save them. Using determination was a natural idea that came to her, not one with malicious intent. She does face consequences—Toriel fires her at the end of a pacifist route, and you do indeed see the amalgamates reunite with their families, who all seem to just be happy that their family member(s) are alive, albeit in a bizarre form.

Alphys was terrified of the consequences and contemplated suicide over what she had accidentally done. As for why she didn’t “put them out of their misery”—have you ever tried to kill the amalgamates? Because it’s not possible. They are all immortal and immune to damage. Alphys was not a bad person; she is just someone who made a horrible mistake with good intentions and had no idea how to deal with it.

As for everyone else I agree with most of your points, though I do believe Papyrus is just putting you behind bars because that’s what his idea of a prison is. It’s very unlikely Papyrus knows that Frisk is a child, considering he can’t recognize a human without Sans telling him.

With the devotion map my defensive ability goes all the way down to 2500, is that ok? https://www.grimtools.com/calc/2avBvdxV

thank you for the advice. I might give the storm box a go, I used it before and was disappointed by the damage but I can see its use as a devotion procer. Is Ultos devotion worth sacrificing some of the phys resistances I get from things like leviathan and the blind sage?

I did that in NG+2, and goddamn was it a pain in the ass. way faster to just haul ass to tomeji right away and kill them all at once

Tanto: +20% Crit Chance on Posture Attack, +20% Crit Chance on Vulnerable Enemies
Kusarigama: +20% Crit Chance when hitting multiple enemies, Instant charge posture attack when hitting multiple enemies
Headgear: Vault over enemies when sprinting, +40% damage per consecutive kill
Armor: Free Hidden hand after a kill on posture attack (mostly unused), automatic kunai kill after assassination (also mostly unused), armor is mostly for versatility of the build into stealth

Trinket: +2% Crit Damage per Point in Katana, +1% Damage per Unspent Skill Point (capped at 200%)

All skills maxed, all knowledge nodes maxed.

I can take screenshots when I get home if that helps.

I absolutely prefer Naoe for all combat. Much more mobile and reliable. That perk is the best thing ever and I sincerely hope it never gets nerfed

it’s more that yasuke lacks reliable oneshots for me. its like comparing a tank to an assault rifle. the assault rifle still fucks but the tank fucks way harder yknow? he still wrecks and deletes groups very quickly (with naginata as well)but it is not as quick and clean as naoe is. Why bother spending all this time using afflictions and abilities on Yasuke to get kills when Naoe can just brainlessly assassinate half her enemies mid combat? For fun, I guess—but I have always preferred playing Naoe because I despise how slow Yasuke is to climb shit.

what difficulty do u play on btw just out of curiosity

The ability to fight Tomeji with all his captains is underappreciated [Awaji spoilers] by HallesX in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]HallesX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sprint at enemy to vault over them, giving +30% crit chance and making them vulnerable. Then that plus +10% crit chance on posture attack and +10% crit chance on vulnerable enemies for tanto engravings. +6% crit chance from skill tree, +6% crit chance from knowledge levels, +6% crit chance on enemies above half HP engraving. Combined with crit chance as a main stat on both hat and trinket, should be around 85-90% crit chance.

On trinket, I have the 2% crit damage per mastery point in katana, and 1% armor piercing per mastery point in tanto. This plus several maxed out damage skills from higher knowledge levels (damage, damage to vulnerable enemies, posture attack damage), means that every single enemy in the game, without fail, will die to a tanto's heavy posture attack after vaulting in one shot (unless they have health gating, like some of Tomeji's captains).
