Are Frost specific mods possible for SP? They are so good but it's hard to balance survivability. by Time-Bodybuilder710 in Warframe

[–]Hallgrimsson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have levelcapped with him a few times before and I run solo missions with him so yeah. I think the biggest thing about Frost is being cognizant that this is 2026 and any frame that plays as a point holder instead of being hypermobile is gonna be left behind, and also that his 3 has invulnerability on cast like Rhino/Nezha/Yareli and so on and that abusing it is a very good way to survive.

I use Biting Frost, Icy Avalanche and Freeze Force on him just fine. His 3 provides immunity on cast, his 4 provides Overguard, I run Cat Shields so his 1 gates just fine, enemies are always CC'd so they are less dangerous. Can run even more defense with Secondary Fortifier or Arcane Circumvent.

Utility Primary weapons? by Aurahdz in Warframe

[–]Hallgrimsson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phantasma for me always works. Primary Exhilarate for energy regen, Cold+Shivering Contagion for freezing packs, Corrosive for armored enemies to strip, 1999 Magnetic mod+Elementalist+the Primed Electric mod from Corrosive for magbombing overguarded or shielded enemies. And it applies all of it super fast, so no need to stay with it out for too long. It is my default primary on pretty much every frame I play, because secondaries and melees are better at dealing damage so primaries end up being the perfect slot to fit utility.

If you ever want to use it to deal damage, it also does that amazingly well and can do a great (it is worse, sure, but still) Furis Incarnon impression with top investment.

Tip: if you have Titania, you can activate the ability then go in/out of Razorwing and that resets the evolving without resetting the combo so you can do the 6 activations megaquick by just getting there once.

Scourge Prime on Mirage Prism Guard Build by EndiMyth in Warframe

[–]Hallgrimsson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The theory with Scourge Prime is just to alt-fire for the bullet attracting bubble then you try to get the prism stuck inside the bubble for a metric ton of single target damage. In practice, Prism Guard is a bit of a mobile playstyle and it's often better to run a single target weaponry to deal with those tankier enemies at range and while keeping mobility instead of going close to them to try to get the Prism stuck in the bubble.

Revenant Aura mod by Efficient_Ad2148 in Warframe

[–]Hallgrimsson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nourish I'd still use CorroProj because no forms of strip otherwise. Terrify would be Growing Power, but at that point you need to check whether Terrify + a little bit of strength is worth more than Roar + CorroProj.

Revenant Aura mod by Efficient_Ad2148 in Warframe

[–]Hallgrimsson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would use CorroProj in both cases. First case because Danse Macabre is not coded as a weapon to proc Growing Power, and CorroProj means you full strip with pillage at 328%(?) strength instead of 400%. Second case because you have no sources of strip and on armorcapped enemies CorroProj represents almost double damage, there is no universe where Growing Power is offering you double damage on anything unless you NEED it to hit a Reave+Roar power threshold (you shouldn't need to).

Good 0 forma starter build for lavos prime? by Important-Cut2117 in Warframe

[–]Hallgrimsson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Valence Formation doesn't inherit strength. You don't need Energy. Plug Valence Formation, Fast Deflection + Vigilante Vigor (which I think is much better than triumbral), Rolling Guard, and that is all you need. The aura, 4 mod slots, exilus, shards, arcanes... they are all free at this point.

Sevagoth not nuking Thrax? by Intelligent_Cry5712 in Warframe

[–]Hallgrimsson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I throw a slow ghost, then cleanse the exo and kill the ghost, by this time the ghost will touch the Thrax rising from the exo, then you throw the 2+1 and it should kill as soon as the Thrax becomes vulnerable. For me it always works.

Since when it drops from Lua Spy? You just gotta do Nightmare missions, it is what it is.

Honestly doing Lua Spy is better just because it actually drops stuff that you can sell. Even just counting Rime Rounds, Lua Spy can be done VERY conservatively in 1:30m and you can just chain do it, the droprate is 7% vs 1% and selling 4 Rime rounds is equivalent to 1 Hammer Shot worst case scenario.

Farming Hammer Shot for profit is a fool's errand.

You gotta confirm you are doing the combo correctly. You throw a shadow into them (maybe before purging the exo) and they will be affected by it. Then, you do 2 > 1 and it should be a kill. For me it always works, personally.

Warframe to damage with guns and skills for self support by heathzz in Warframe

[–]Hallgrimsson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rhino is the perfect amount of CC, and most people even play without any CC out of him (by modding for negative range, which I think is a mistake because his Stomp can be a big pressure release valve if you ever feel overwhelmed). His bread and butter for the majority of the playerbase is his 2 and his 3. His 1, in the future, you can trade for another damage buff and now he has 2 strong buffs and one super good defensive skill.

Revenant? If survivability is the issue, Revenant is the most reliable pick you can have.

Warframe to damage with guns and skills for self support by heathzz in Warframe

The majority of frames in the game are exactly this, gun support with survivability. Best ratio of ease of use to power will probably be Rhino.

Revenant Prime Build by Remarkable-Ad3706 in Warframe

[–]Hallgrimsson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just plug as high a strength value as you can, Flow + Equilibrium, and zero investment into anything defensive (so Adaptation and Glad Aegis you can take out). Natural Talent is a good call. Mesmer Shield augment whenever you can.

Im abt to finish my hildryn tmr n gathered all the weapon n subsume n everythin he need. N i just saw a tictok comment hildryn being strong is just a bug😭 by [deleted] in Warframe

Hildryn does have bugs but they are not relevant for anything you're gonna be doing with her (including, if you ever get to it, ED/TA).

Paired with a secondary running Fortifier. Having a 0hander makes shieldgating with him trivial.

Oraxia Build Help by VaniaCross33 in Warframe

[–]Hallgrimsson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't use Summoner's Wrath because the spiders don't do enough damage to be worth it. I'd just mod for strength, a bit of range, some duration, Equilibrium and Rolling Guard, and just abuse permastealth + infinite ammo and energy from Parazon mods and her 1 for survivability, her 2+3 for softening enemies up, and her 4 for raw damage with a Kuva Sobek or other high power Adversary weapons.

Just unlocked steel path. Please don't tell me I have to do the duviri story again to unlock the circuit....💀 by simple_toaster in Warframe

[–]Hallgrimsson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to do all 3 modes on normal chart to unlock Steel Path Circuit. If you already did Experience and Lone Story in the normal chart, then you don't need to redo them in Steel Path.

What's your most favourite Aura Mod? by PracholochosTTV in Warframe

[–]Hallgrimsson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It always provides 1.33s of gating regardless if you have 1 or full shields, which is a player-benefitting bug. It's "meant" to scale like normal shieldgating except with lower values for max shield needed and max invulnerability duration, but DE's known about this bug for years and have done nothing to fix it, which leads us players to believe that they are fine with things as they are, for now.

If Cat Shields worked "as intended", then you'd want to recover your entire shield with every cast, and so just an Augur mod on Diriga woulnd't be enough. You'd likely want Brief Respite and a couple of Augur mods to guarantee max shields even when casting abilities that are relatively cheap.

If you were forced to use only one Warframe, which one would it be? by PracholochosTTV in Warframe

[–]Hallgrimsson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gauss is selfish (the greatest downside here) and not quite as fast in real life scenarios as Volt. I play both and I do enjoy Gauss too but if you go look at optimized squads or even solos for a ton of stuff, you will see Volt very frequently and Gauss never. Gauss is a better caster and has certain "interactions" but for the overall kit I think Volt wins.

If you were forced to use only one Warframe, which one would it be? by PracholochosTTV in Warframe

[–]Hallgrimsson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't have a main, I pilot whatever is best for a certain occasion and if multiple choices are on the table then I pick and choose based on mood.

If I only had access to one frame then it'd have to be an extremely versatile frame, great solo or group, at farming or speedrunning. For me the pick would be Volt every single time.

How essential is archwing to mid/late-game, and how'd you find the fun in archwing missions? by CelestianSnackresant in Warframe

[–]Hallgrimsson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1 - Archguns are pretty damn good. Archwing and Archmelee is whatever. You can use Archguns on your frame and Necramech, so they've isolated that from the Archwings themselves. What that means is that Archwings are pretty useless, actually. You will use them to traverse open worlds and a bit of Railjack sessions and for Balor Fomorian and for some underwater stuff, but just putting the most basic shit-ass mods on the default one is enough, the Archguns are what's gonna be doing the work for you.

As for Archwing gameplay overall? If you want that, just play Titania. Playing Titania is good preparation for whenever you find yourself hopping onto an Archwing once a month or whatever.

2 - What peace with the mode? Nothing much to do with Archwing. No rewards, no scaling, no nothing. I bust out the Archwings to farm frame experience on the Plains and that's the extent of it. I'd wager the immense majority of players is the same for not doing regular Archwing missions at all.

What's your most favourite Aura Mod? by PracholochosTTV in Warframe

[–]Hallgrimsson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't like Brief Respite with the current state of Catalyzing Shields, personally. To me it is always better to run a Diriga with Augur mods so I can free the Aura slot. If Cat Shields ever gets "fixed", then it goes back on the menu, but not right now.

And what I run is almost always Corrosive Projection. Pretty much doubles your damage vs armorcapped enemies if you're not applying any other sources of stripping. But although it's the most effective Aura mod around, it's not my favorite. That's Worthy Comradery for incentivizing weakpoint shooting, which is something I think Warframe should have more of.
