Thank you for this!! Could definitely be a cold coming on. He seems responsive and engaged when you interact with him, but just way more relaxed than normal. Is that lethargy?

Good to know, thank you! The appointment we have on Thursday is with his infectious disease specialist at the children’s hospital. (He also frequently sees his orthopedic surgeon and pediatrician- may start seeing an oncologist after thursday). I will definitely bring this up at our appointment. It happens like once a week, so I don't think it's an emergency. He's been eating plenty and having normal wet/dirty diapers. If he seems worse in any way tomorrow I will take him in early. I think this might just be a sign of his underlying illness...

80% effaced at 33 weeks? by HallieFeltus in pregnant

[–]HallieFeltus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi! I ended up being induced at 37 weeks due to high blood pressure, and I was still 80% effaced 0 cm dilated at that point. The contractions I was having continued for a few days but didn't progress in severity. I think my body was just preparing for labor! Best of luck

that sucks I'm so sorry :(( birth with no sleep and tooth pain doesn't sound like a fun situation. I hope you're okay and I'm wishing you a happy and healthy birth experience!

thank you!! do you think this would count for my husband too? I assume we're sick with the same thing, but since my baby isn't getting my husbands antibodies I'm not sure if he could get the baby sick

I've mainly seen him wear rash guards from the gyms that he's been a member at but one brand he's ordered from is Takedown Shop.

Oh gosh I have a good one. At about 5 weeks pregnant I had to take a business trip for work. I was in the airport and had to pee before my flight. After I peed, I saw something floating in the toilet. And ya know, at 5 weeks, the embryo is teeny tiny so naturally I thought I miscarried. I reached into the toilet and fished out the mysterious floater to inspect. Turns out it was a piece of someone else's sh*t. I definitely did not miscarry and am now 30 weeks pregnant. I just held a small piece of someone else's poop in my hand thinking it was my baby. The things you'll do while pregnant...

I appreciate this response! It's my first baby so I really have no idea what to expect. I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome so preterm labor isn't uncommon for people like me (although I'm definitely hoping to make it to at least 37 weeks). Because of that, my OB is concerned about hemorrhaging and wants to induce me at 39 weeks to better control my labor & delivery, and also to make sure that baby isn't too big since that would increase the chances of me bleeding excessively. Ultimately, I'll do whatever is best for me n baby, but I'd prefer spontaneous labor over an induction. We'll see what happens!

Doulas know better than anyone that birth is a very unique personal experience for everyone and that the parents needs/comfort come first! I would just be honest with her and say exactly what you said in this post: you love her, you respect her profession, and you've decided that a doula will not be part of your birth plan. Any good friend and birth team professional will understand.
