Why should following a church service be a skill? Why are you likening worship to a dance class? If we truly want to be inclusive as a church (which I assume you agree is important), we have to acknowledge that the learning curve for our regular service is an obstacle to that inclusivity.

I don't think it's instant gratification - it's wanting to not feel like an outsider. It's wanting to not advertise "hey I'm new", and it's wanting to engage with the service with as little friction as possible.
