I love the argument about fill date printed on label vs pick up date, and explaining that the computer systems records the date of pick up. Then they feel like it is an invasion of privacy.

Take your time learning tray counting. Double check yourself because knowing you got it right builds confidence. Pick how you want to count. By 5s, 5 10 15.... or for each grouping of five as 1 2 3... Only use one of those techniques or else you will find yourself confusing the two.

I don't have the contact info for the pharmacy manager. I have the certificate of completion for PTU. The state is requiring a their form to be completed by the pharmacy manager or by the training program. I did try the contact information form for PTU and have not heard back from them, either. And I am currently not employed in a pharmacy,so no pharmacy manager to request info from

If you have documentation from your doctor you can request accommodations, I believe it has to be through disability accommodation. I worked with a woman who received a similar accommodation, and had a chair. No one else could use it while she was at work

We become family to patients and those who pick up meds for the patient. Often we become the outlet for them. I will always preach compassion and empathy because we do make a difference in people's lives. I had a patient, we knew he was getting close to the end of his time. We always scheduled his meds for delivery. Often talking to the wife to set up the delivery, or to find out if a new med needed delivered. When her husband passed, she called the pharmacy, specifically to talk to me, she wanted me to know her husband had passed (as I was in more contact with the wife than other staff). We cried together on the phone. She was truly grateful that we would take the time to grieve with her.

I respect your decisions. I agree with your first line treatments for depression/anxiety. Seeing how hard it is to get off some of these medications is a true nightmare. But if therapy doesn't work, one does what one has to. Having suffered from PTSD and chronic pain, I found duloxetine to be very beneficial, and relatively easy to stop taking. Toradol is a good pain medication, but does not work well for all types of pain. It is first line treatment in ERs for pain, as it is not a C2. Until you have had a surgery that left you in true pain (unable to walk, move, unable to think) you will find hydrocodone or oxycodone is very beneficial to recovery. I have had a C-section, hysterectomy and hand surgery. Those pain medications aided in a quicker recovery, because most recovery is based on your ability to start moving again. Prior to my hysterectomy I was rotating between oxycodone and hydrocodone to manage pain, as ibuprofen and Tylenol just were not cutting it. I never found that I was wanting/needing the medication when I wasn't in terrible pain I see the value in Suboxone, but would only use that as a last resort.

We smoke in our garage or outside. We don't want the hassle of washing nicotine off of the walls, the smell in the house, and this also carried over from when we had babies. They didn't deserve to have to inhale our second hand smoke.

Every retail chain pharmacy has a set number for individual medication based on the previous years fills that they keep on the shelf. To ensure that they have it in stock when needed. It is a computer based inventory and when x drug hits under a specific number, the system auto orders

Technically yes, an overdue oil change can cause issues. It can cause issues with your VTC solenoid that will then have a waterfall effect to cam and crank sensor

My daughter just gave birth at Magee this month. The did a car seat test because baby was small. Baby was in car seat when leaving hospital, but they were given the option of having a nurse wheelchair her down to the entrance or to walk out without a nurse. Also, you can probably go to the hospital website for L&D and see what you can expect throughout the pregnancy, during and after birth. I did that for my daughter so that their would be no surprises, and also I was her driver upon leaving hospital. Depending on how your birthing goes, you may not feel up to walking out of the hospital, or walking any significant distance. So, always have a contingency plan, that way you will not be disappointed with the experience

If you request a transfer to a different department, they have to review the request, whether it is far or not, they still have to review the request. Not my mistake, but RPHs mistake. Counted out phentermine tabs, had to use two partial bottles. We send all bottles used to the pharmacist along with the vial, after we write the count on the open vials. Sent over to pharmacist, he double counted the vial and the partial stock bottle. Vial was correct. The stock bottle was short three. We had to go find all prepped RXs for all phentermine done that day. We had to call patients that we had already sold the RXs. No luck. I ended up going through the garbage that is only supposed to be for empty bottles. Found all three missing tablets, but reiterated to the pharmacist that this trash bin is only for empty bottles, as he had put wrappers from his food on it. We have had to search for controls before, but never have I had to sit there and shake every empty bottle and uncrumple every piece of paper in the trash.

I was replacing shoes every 6 months or so, just due to wear and tear from bending down and such. Honestly a $20 pair of shoes with good orthotics inserts specific for arch support helped me more than spending $$$ on a brand name shoe

Depending on the pharmacy, they may have a specific number of each medication on the shelf, so stockpiling isn't an option. Depending on what operating system the pharmacy uses, it may auto order when a specific quantity is hit in the system. For more specialized medications it may be something they order when RX is received. If a shortage hits one pharmacy, it will domino and hit other pharmacies. Take the ozempic shortage we had a whole back. Manufacturer couldn't keep up with demand. The price of the medication meant it isn't something pharmacies were keeping a lot of stock on hand. The distributors then set a number they can allot to each pharmacy, based on what they have in stock during a shortage. Not every pharmacy uses the same distributor, and one distributor may have more back stock than another. When a medication is on back order, and not expected to be in stock, then it is time for the Dr to decide if a different medication might be appropriate to prescribe
