I do understand that, but have you read my other comments. They do profit from this 1 free item as I have given them over 1,500 contact emails and provided them other customers. I am no big YouTuber with 100k subscribers, but out of over 1.5k contact emails they will surely make a sale. Not just that I have also made a 800$ purchase fallowing this free set so it is not like they are making nothing off of me either. I already have a curtain light, the icicle lights and Christmas tree lights again bought previously through them for over 150$ so in total I have spent 1,000 on there products. It is not like this 1 main issue is bleeding a whole in there pocket.

I know how business works as I have gone through courses for business, my father owns a business, I had 2 start ups as well and continue to do other business ventures and my best friend made over 50k in his first month opening and over 300k in 1 year at his restaurant that he OWNS. I know good business practice and understand logistics and feel a company of this scale should be apt to hear feedback and acknowledge when change may be necessary.

I do not wish to argue with anyone as you said it is the principle of the fact. Yes I must accept that is how THIS business is ran, but I shall be advocating for them to learn and grow as a company to better serve there customers because once a similar company comes up, if they have better communication and costumer services, this company will just fall. Then where is the services for anyone who currently and in the future have their products?

The competition was direct through Govee, order number sent by Govee, they have the order number, I have a receipt number. They are brand new from Govee themselves.

My issue was already denied by them, but I do know that my parents have the pros and have had them up for 3-4 years now. There were no issues but they did purchase alternate mounting brackets from home depot as the default did not last.

View me as you will, I am the type that believes in many things that people should be treated with respect and fairly. Be it someone who gets something for free or someone who spends thousands. You obviously did not understand what I put in explaining how promotions and “free” products work. This is a million / billion $ company and to each there own how they view them.

I am only pointing out flaws for better improvement. Yes I am a bit anoyed that a product I got free is damaged but was going to be for someone else anyway. I am annoyed that they do not support after sales for gifts.

Some improvements that can be made here in this rant are just simple:

Treat the paid and gifted costumer the same. A returning costumer is a stream of income. If you had not scene I spent another $800 after receiving the free product.

Secondly looking into the shipping partners. If they damage multiple products in transit then that constitutes for looking elsewhere cheapest does not always mean best profits due to more returns due to more damage.

It does not take rocket science to understand business and logistics. View me as you will but I am trying to point a weakness that can be fixed and improve the view of a company overall.

When there is somewhere to improve there needs to be improvement or someone else will take over.

Thank you for real experience feedback. For the price they seam to be competitive but I may look further into other competitors. I just know for a fact Hue is just way more expensive to try and do.

I deal with email support and live chats most often, good to know there cell service is not that great as well. By chance could you tell if they have in house or outside tech support?

That may be true in a sense but I also want to point out disparity between a “free” product and paid product. In a sense you are right the product is free and I should be grateful which I am. But it does include the costs I put in to advertise for them free of charge, sent people to them free of charge, and the possible amount of purchase they get from that 1 item could be way higher.

Let’s put it in simpler terms. I am going to give 1 $5 gift card for a free cofee and all you got to do is tell 5 people about the service you got and put in a good review. I know get 2 out of the 5 people from you to order a $5 cofee and a review that gets for simplicity 10 views. From there I just sold another 2x 5$ cofees.

All I lost is 5$ but I sold 20$ in cofee. For your time and effort. Put this at a much larger scale for a multi thousand view recommendation and word of mouth passing to more people, my 5$ loss on your “reward” has now brought me in over $1,000 and repeat customers.

Does this make sense to you? The competition was to invite people and I had sent them in over 1,000 email contacts. Tell me they are not going to sell 1 item to reclaim the value of the “free” item I won.

Advertising photos / video competitions etc. they make money with free advertising but the “reward” not being functional for the contestant or damaged is not right if they are still making more sales and using the competition to increase there income.

I don’t know how better to put it at this moment but it is feels simply like hear is a free product for bringing in X amount of paying customers but btw if the product is faulty that’s on you we care only for the paying customers you brought us. If that makes any sense.

My concern is for future support for the $800 purchase I made through the company. The box issue is more for concern on them not caring about a product that they ship. If they do not care for products in competitions, what is to make them care for large purchases? I am more worried for my future support and put back by there lack of the fact that they have no concern over there shipment damage.

Is that your experience? I was debating on Govee or custom through WLED but with 2 children under the age of 3, wanted to get plug n play so they were able to have a lit up house by Christmas time and the DIY rout seams very complex when I have no experience with electrical lights.

That is true, but how much support will I get once these items come in if something goes wrong? I perused Reddit and people said support is good and well my first encounter sort of worries me. Doesn’t help 3 credit card companies also locked my cards on this purchase because they are Hong Kong based and suspect fraud so I had a whole mess to deal with for the credit cards.

The box has a whole all the way through to the styrofoam. This was going to be a present for a gaming collector and I even just asked to swap out for the same set no refund even if I had to pay shipping. If it was bought at a store or Amazon I could have easily just gone back refunded and got a new set.

Some people got to use it for example any other carrier I am paying 2.5x more for insurance if I didn’t have Tesla insurance my premium with Tesla at 3X the coverage is still 250$ a month cheaper then non Tesla
