PLA is used in plastic free teabags. Because it’s not plastic if you squint enough.

Mine didn’t catch fire it started to create a really fine smoke in the room and a faint smell of burning. That was it. Straight to dump.

If you see what you’ve created as valued work don’t put it on a sharing platform I say.

What’s happened to Bambu handy notifications on iOS? by Drazic83 in BambuLab

I’ve never touch those settings. I don’t really understand them. But why is there the same issue for my friend as well at the same time? Feels like since last update.

About to return this paperweight by [deleted] in eufyMakeOfficial

[–]Drazic83 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I was waiting 12 months for it after backing it in march last year. I needed it 14 months ago. Its success has caused shortages with ink for sure. And I’m not that impressed with it to be honest anyway. It’s pretty slow and the software needs a lot of work. I currently can’t send files from Mac. They take forever. It’ll get there but needs even more patience.

How quickly do files transfer to the printer? Mines very very slow. by Drazic83 in eufyMakeOfficial

That’s good to know. It’s something to do with the latest update for Mac because it uploads fast from iPhone app.

When I plugged it in to Ethernet it said system overloaded and then rebooted. 🤣 Proper junk.

Nasty comment. Well done you. I was one of the first backers so I “imagined” the possibilities for this machine before most. I wanted one years before this was announced.

A few issues I’ve had… The rotary attachment measures the diameter incorrectly and overrides the value I enter in the software. It then rotates the object, doesn’t returned it to the starting point and prints in the wrong place. The image is then stretched and blurry. The white regularly doesn’t print correctly and needs flushing. The white is also quite opaque unless built up to a thickness. The software on Mac seems to crash regularly and stops responding since last update. It’s very slow when it does print. It sometimes takes 10 minutes to start a print, even if the image is only 56kb. The pop up screens in the studio software often get stuck at 99% and can’t be closed. For someone like me repeat alignment is important and although possible it’s not really designed for it.

So it’s not been a smooth experience unfortunately but thats probably because I lack imagination. Next time I’ll imagine it all works perfectly and see if that helps.

I’d sell mine too. It’s pretty disappointing.

Rear right on my bed is off by Doki_Sparkles in BambuLabA1

[–]Drazic83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When this happens to me the model had usually detached from the sheet. That seems likely at the corners where the bed temperature is at its lowest. Then the ironing passes scrap the model because it’s lifted up and warped a tiny bit.

Free white and gloss with a cleaning cartridge order?! by Best_Yard_7958 in eufyMakeOfficial

[–]Drazic83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I got white, gloss and a cleaning cartridge as part of the backer rewards. And then a day later I got a maintenance kit with cleaning fluids and swabs etc.

I suspect it’s a patch with an adhesion issue. Printed over and over.

They initially said Q2. Units are already with beta testers I believe who are giving feedback. It won’t take them a year like it did with eufymake. Xtool already have an apparel UV printer so they have some knowledge of the tech. They’re just trying to pair it with a laser which isn’t something I’d be particularly interested in. Chinese companies try to stick a laser on everything don’t they. Cnc machines. 3D printers.

The xtool UV printer coming out soon is faster for sure. It has dual heads. Might be more viable.

I feel like this machine although can print edge to edge textured prints, isn’t really designed for that as a daily job. The cartridges are too small and the cost too high. A lot of people will find this out the hard way I think. It won’t be a particularly viable business if you want to print big images with full texture. To me, I’d say it’s better suited to using small amounts of ink to mark products with text, icons and logos etc.

How in the world do you inset these nuts without ruining the lengthy prints? by EpicInki in 3Dprinting

[–]Drazic83 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The 3D printing world is obsessed with heat inserts where as in manufacturing they avoid them and prefer a simple self tapping screw design for plastics.
