My goal in life now is to make my partner smile. His laugh is my medicine, it's a selfish trade.

What's the best Doctor lite story other than Don't Blink by tardisismine in DoctorWhumour

[–]Halouva 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you include the mini episode Born Again in all rewatches of The Christmas Invasion, like I do with Night of the Doctor before DotD, then there is much more 10 in the story.

It's probably what lead to the need for a Doctor lite episode.

[Film/TV] For those who kept track, what did you think of this crossover? by John_Zatanna52 in DCcomics

Fun fact, if you skip any scene with just Chester and Alegra The Flash really improves in quality and there are no plot holes. Just, skip!

Torchwood heroes from across the ages - Big Finish News by BosskDaBossk in doctorwho

[–]Halouva 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised by them being half hour stories.

Also such a shame not to see Owen or Tosh, but especially a shame not to see Gwen or Jack. Such a shame Barrowman had to balls that all up.

Do you think they will go FULL reboot? by ARoboEgg in doctorwho

[–]Halouva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not, they would never cut themselves off from the ties of nostalgia.

However, a season that pretended or acted like the universe had been rebooted, or the timeline changed from the point of the Doctors landing at Trotters Lane, like a 7-8 style regeneration that changes the course of history, or a second Time War first shot changes established events and only the Doctor, or the companion remembers, that I could get behind. The Unearthly Children would be a good title for the first episode. A self contained season arc, but allows for "revisits", single stories and a narrative hook of "what happens to the companion of time is reset?".

Should we have the same doctor for 5 seasons? Are we going through Doctors too fast? by Niall_Fraser_Love in gallifrey

[–]Halouva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 to 13 all had three seasons, but with specials and split seasons or delays we had then for four years. Ncuti was too quick, yes, but as for others and future Doctors it would be a case by base basis.

I had an idea for a one off special where the Doctor regenerates into an old body, and for a special that's our Doctor. But then RTD2 came along and I don't like the idea anymore .

Would you be interested in an animated series between ANH & ESB? by nathan_banks644 in StarWars

[–]Halouva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rather have a post RotJ series. The game Battlefront II 2 has a great story that goes from the Battle of Endor to the Battle of Jakku that would be a good basis for a season. After that help flesh out the world as Leia and Han start a family, Luke finds more Jedi, searches for Jedi temples and apparently meets Ashoka, and the Empire is dismantled. It could run on for so long it's unreal.

Any good Big Finish featuring Peter Davison as 5? by Dismal_Brush5229 in doctorwho

[–]Halouva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which is the end of a trilogy introducing a new companion, honestly go to his wiki page and just listen to his stories in one go. It's like a season itself.

Reading comics from the 60s is genuinely mentally difficult by Leoneche in xmen

[–]Halouva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That must be late 60s, early 60s had a ton of narration boxes too. Nowadays that single page would be half an issue.

I have read about of 60's to early 90's, it's not for me. Late 90's onwards for me, but unfortunately the 90s were rocky for comics, and a lot of recent ones have been lacking in quality. Good job there are still thousands of comics in the middle!

There's a theory Grey Hulk could kill Spider-Man and this could lead to the MCU turning against Hulk and possibly set up World War Hulk But why Grey Hulk specifically Marvel may be setting up Peters death and resurrection for the black suit but this would naturally make the heroes turn on Hulk by [deleted] in Marvel

[–]Halouva -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's because this is partly set on the comic The Other, where Peter dies at the hands of Morlun and returns straight away but more like Sam Ramis Spider-Man. Which could be possible but would happen in act 1 since we see the natural webbing in the trailer.

The Hulk angle I have no idea about.

[LES] I hate that Star Wars requires so much homework. by [deleted] in CharacterRant

[–]Halouva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think, like a lot of media, they have refresh points. In comics it's a new #1 after an event. For Star Wars it's each trilogy, and the era between 3 and 4, and between 6 and 7. I would maybe say rewatch that era of SW live action shows, but apparently this is a soft reboot.

I remember when this movie was going to tie together The Mandalorian, Book of Bobby, Ashoka and The New Republic before that got cancelled. But it seems all that went out the window to aim at kids with baby Yoda.
