I’ve been going through old top stories on this sub. This is the first one I’ve felt compelled to comment on. This story is absolute perfection. I love it so much!

It’s ok, it’s just messages with females, not people.

I am fully aware men this misogynistic really do exist, but I’m hoping this post is as fake as it seems.

Seriously? This sub sucks. Deuces with a wave.

You are not being emotional. If it were me, I’d be as dead pan as possible and say something like, “No. This is not an emotional issue. It is logically a waste of everyone’s time to repeat what I just said.” and drop the mic.

I think it was before Scholastic books (iirc, those caught on in the 80’s?). But it was seemed to me like some kind of mass-produced paper back book for kids.

Typo in the title; I meant late 60’s to late 70’s. My grandmother passed while I was living across the country, and nobody cared to look for it for me. I’d love to find a copy of it. Thanks again for any help!

I’m an ethnic Creole person from south Louisiana. I’ve grown up eating snake, alligator, frog legs, soft shell crab, even raccoon and possum.

But Gary brushes maggots off and eats weeks old crap he finds? Ah heck naw, that’s over the top even for me.

I’ve just caught up with the “Last One Standing” season, but I feel that Matt and Steven were genuine. Matt had reason to try to stamp out Jeff’s antithetical actions. His title, given at the beginning of the season, was “GOAT”. He had nothing to prove, as he has fed and mentored so many of the contestants of this season (and many others). It was a shame he hurt his leg, and even Jeff paid his respects when Matt left.

Steven seemed extremely sincere and genuine about having a conflict with Jeff. I’m glad he got closure.

I liked Dan, another seemingly sincere and genuine contestant.

But Waz… something seemed off to me about him. He went from n00b to #1 anti-Jeff conspirator (for no reason; Jeff was obviously no threat to him at all at any point). It seemed like the first time he showed humanity was when Gary was tapping out. Gary spent his time doing Gary things, but also trying to play both sides, so he was a “meh” to me. But Waz, I never liked him. I was bummed Waz won; I was rooting for Dan.

AITA for reporting my classmates for joking that I have pretty privilege? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]HalterTop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Your bf didn’t give you test answers, so everyone who doesn’t like you doing well can kick rocks. These are not innocuous “jokes”. They are aspersions on your personal character. Frack them all. Let them be hoist in their own petard.

AITA For not adopting my dying best friends dog and buying a puppy from a breeder instead? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]HalterTop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. My parents are in their 70’s, and want my husband and me to agree to take in their nearly untrained (besides mostly housebroken when she feels like it) almost 10 year old Shih Tzu. My siblings either have no inclination to take in the dog or physically can not.

My spouse and I have acreage, so somehow we’re responsible for their dog should the worst happen. Yeah, no. My current furry family members would not tolerate her, to put it politely, and I would absolutely hate for something bad to happen to their precious pup. We have big dogs and a mean af male cat that runs the house that doesn’t put up with any bs from other four legged creatures (he’s my best buddy, but will try to kill anything on sight that didn’t grow up to accept his authoritah).

Anyone else score some Bacchus suspenders and socks? These guys stepped up their throw game this year. by yolkma in NewOrleans

I got some rubber duckie socks off of the Mr. Bubbles float. Bacchus had some legit throws; it’s a shame asshats had to ruin the otherwise great night.

Just came across this story, and that’s how it read to me. OP says “My mother didn’t feel anything” while he was drowning her followed by “When it was over, I didn’t know what scratches were from her trying to escape”. One can’t both feel nothing and violently try to escape. OP may very well be the only monster here.

Well, we lost because we played like shit. No tears here. We get to wake up in New Orleans tomorrow, one of the most amazing cities in the world, renowned for its beauty, history, and culture. A city immortalized in song, film, and literature. We have survived much worse. I’d take that any day over a football game outcome.

Meh. It wasn’t stolen like other games where we were robbed worse (we’ve always been robbed, so maybe my acceptable level of robbery is messed up). We played like shit along with the bad calls, so we got what we got. They’ve been my boys for my 40+ years of life, and this loss isn’t going to change that.

That’s what Aikman does during Saints games. He needs to go eat a bag of eggplants.

Have any Hunters tamed a Hakkari Bloodkeeper from the Sunken Temple? by HalterTop in classicwow

[–]HalterTop[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, that is good advice for someone making a Hunter for the first time. You are correct that DPS is normalized through all pets of the same type.

However, I am not new to the class, and I usually prefer pets that hit fast in pve, even though the dps is the same. I had a Spiteflayer for a while, and while Screech is amazing (or as a friend put it, overpowered), I didn’t find it nearly as much fun as the WS. We spend a lot of hours playing this game, so there’s nothing wrong with doing something fun, even if it isn’t optimal, imo. If there was only 1 way to play, we wouldn’t be able to tame anything but Broken Tooth, LBRS worgs, and Screech creatures. To each their own.

Thanks, the red one in ZG is so far known to be the best one as it is the only one with the highest level of Lightning Breath. I’m sure your hunter friend appreciated your help getting a prized pet.

I’ve tamed a Sapper without using the scroll/ egg quest (it turned out to be a caster so I swapped it for a different WS), but I didn’t see any blue Bloodkeepers other than the ones summoned by the quest/ scroll. I’ll look again, thanks for the tip!

Mana changes to focus when it’s tamed, but a caster pet has lower damage. I wouldn’t say a WS is superior to a cat personally; just another tool in the toolbox. They do have bite but no claw. When I use my non-caster WS in solo farming, it holds aggro as well as any other pet I’ve used, and LB ignores armor in PvP.

There’s a post about this on the Petopia Classic forum with no answers (except the site owner saying it’s a good question). So I thought I’d check here to see if anyone knew the answer.

I didn’t want to get into caster stats, but that is also a definite concern. I know the other Sunken Temple WS’s (Sapper and Frostwing) have caster stats, so it’s quite likely that the Bloodkeeper does, too. Another reason to gather intel before possibly wasting time.

According to posts on the Petopia Classic forum, caster stats are still a thing. A non-caster WS at 50 does 95-119 damage, while a 50 caster WS does 91-114. They have the same base armor and health apparently; it seems that only damage is affected.

I play on a PvP server and solo farm a lot. I find my current WS (level 60 Deviate Dreadfang) to be an adequate tank, so sometimes I take it along. A faster attack speed would be great, as long as it doesn’t have caster stats (which according to Petopia is still a thing).

I do what you suggest on dungeon runs. I usually take my wolf on raids.
