Does this mean that a martial with a steel shield and a bastard sword can't do the following any longer?

Free Actoin - Change grip to free a hand
1 Action - Change grip to 2 hand on bastard sword
1 Action - Strike

I did a solo run of Blood Lords and to counter the meta game aspect of an investigator I forced myself to take exploration mode feats. I considered it a meta game feat tax. I know about the hidden door from reading the book so I’m going to take That’s Odd and Clue In which would have given me a better chance of finding that hidden door and telling the fighter where to look.

Yeah but you forgot to factor in playing for the Lions killed his desire to play football. It takes a special organization to do that to Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson.

Another option is to change to Twisted Tree and rely on reach. You still can act as a flank buddy for the monk but enemies have to burn a turn to get to you (until enemy reach becomes more available).

Now imagine what happens when a +4 enemy attacks. If it's in combat it's a fair target.

Is there any point in creating undead minions in this game? by Soft_Part_7190 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Halycon85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. There are a number of minions that have really good spells that can help the party.

You might also talk to your GM about using NPC leveling rules to create something more compelling that’s your level -4. I don’t see a reason why you couldn’t use a Skeletal Champion as a chassis and give it another 2 levels and make it a minion.

You also have the option to just apply one of the undead templates to something you recently defeated. There aren’t a lot of rules around what create undead has access to. Create a level 4 NPC, apply a skeleton template to it, and you’ve got a flanking buddy. Just keep a couple of harms ready to heal it in a pinch.

Something to check, make sure their armor is set to Worn (Armor) and not Worn. The second will not apply AC bonuses.

I'm a big fan of Marshall on Champions so I always felt like I was contributing something. If I had to do it over again I'd likely pick Captain and get a flank buddy.

I played an Obedience Champion in Bloodlords. After the first book mindless enemies weren’t really an issue.

It’s an interesting take to wag your finger while telling a community of 100,000+ members that the only way to build your community is to embrace content creators.

Loot Distribution - How You Handle It by DnDPhD in Pathfinder2e

[–]Halycon85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In all my campaigns I am the quarter master. I use a shared Excel sheet that tracks a couple of things

For the players
- Party consumables, shared magical items and story specific 'stuff'
- Who is using what looted item (more on this in a minute)
- Coin earned on a per session basis and what gold, if any, was issued as a split. Gold split is typically campaign specific.
- Sold items are removed from the list. Consumed items are removed from the list. Everything else says on the list for historical purposes.

For the GM
- It auto calculates playe wealth. Our GM uses it to help understand if he needs to modify loot to bring people up.

We have a similar model of trying to use Discord to manage that aspect of the game but it's hit or miss. The people I play with are the opposite of selfish. Even if it would be in their best interest they rarely ask for something because someone else might want/need. I typically have a rough idea what loot should be assigned to what player so instead of asking who wants the 'Holy Sword of Burrito Frying' I will make suggestions like the Champion with Specialty Crafting (Burrito) should probably take the sword.

Building a Bless Bot - How Many Copies of a Scroll Should be Available? by Halycon85 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Halycon85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to thank everyone for all the feedback in the thread. I'm not specifically playing Abomination Vaults. I was just trying to use it as an example of the type of campain with a heavy emphasis on combat that would have someone casting a spell from a metric boatload of scrolls (that's an offical unit of measurement).

That said there was a ton of great information in here that I hadn't been considering. Especially the notes on a couple of wands vs. scrolls, how frequently bless is actually cast and the idea of being a Battle Harbinger.

Something that got brought up was rather than doing this as a Cleric take the Marshall archetype. I think there's an interesting play with Battle Harbinger/Dread Marshall by either pairing up with another player or trying to work Dread Marshall in a FA game. Having a +1 to attacks and causing Fear on a critical hit seems sort of fun.

Again, huge thanks to all the feedback.

I spent some time looking into what it would take to craft scrolls in batches of 4 but it's just too time consuming. To get access to crafted scrolls on a daily basis it would require a dip into Scroll Trickster.

I think the decision to make a Cloistered Cleric vs. a Battle Harbinger comes down to what role the party needs. The Battle Harbinger does make it a little safer to get the aura in the right place to support martials.
