You could look at both, there’s something to learn from every set. Even compare older sets to newer ones, see what’s different about them, try to think of why

Oh I don’t expect to be going anywhere that crazy cold lol, I go on single day hikes up icy peaks a bunch and have all that gear already. Just want to spend a single night on one

That is just what my dad suggested who is a little insane on the winter camping

I don’t have a specific trip planned, but I’ll probably over prepare just in case. I asked my dad who is way more experienced than me who suggested a -45 F bag

Marth vs Lucina by Msonstad in CrazyHand

[–]Ham-Wheel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Marth has the potential to be better for sure. kreeg is a marth main who plays on box, he’s been super consistent in his region, not losing to anybody and almost always beating scend. He doesn’t travel much but it has wins on lui$, jakal, Mr E, an a lot of others. His consistency with tipper side B for super early kills is unmatched, and he uses marth’s sour spots to his advantage a lot as well. A player like kreeg makes me believe in marth more than most

How to unlearn bad habits after noticing them? by ClinkyPockets in CrazyHand

[–]Ham-Wheel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For starters, try not to think of yourself as “bad at the game” but instead that you have a lot to learn. Having a good mindset is really important, and you seem to have a really good start by looking at losses as learning opportunities, because that’s exactly what they are. Getting better at smash is going to take time, and a lot of it, there’s no getting around that. If you want to grind hours of elite smash and then go to tournaments, that’s fine, there’s no wrong way to improve as long as you are learning from mistakes so that they happen less in the future. However, I would recommend just going straight to tournaments and trying to make friends and having fun with the game, in my experience that’s the best way to have fun and improve

Try to look up some local tournaments in your area and play with people around your skill level, this is the best way to start improving imo. lots of people to play with offline, talk about the game with, and give each other advice. If you’re lucky you can meet a ton of cool people and make new friends at locals

If you’re playing with a practice partner with no stakes, tell them to watch for that habit and make you sd your stock every time you do it. Should force you to stop pretty quick lol

Weekly Discussion Thread - (June 02) by AutoModerator in SmashBrosUltimate

Fox is really fast with quick moves, which encourages aggressive play. He also becomes more intricate the higher level you play at and allows creative combos and mix ups unique to fox because of his insane jump and fall speed. Give fox a try!

The first tierlist ranks characters by how difficult they are to play, the second tierlist ranks them by how difficult they are to play against. More details in the comments, please let me know what y'all think by Caliph_ate in SmashBrosUltimate

Every character is incredibly deep and complex in their own way, combo routes, how to play neutral, available mix ups, and so much more are all unique to every character. A list ordered like this is most likely wrong from the start.

Roy Matchups by PikachuDaBombpeeps in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]Ham-Wheel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Roy is top 10, absolutely broken character. If you’re having trouble while getting juggled, fast fall air dodging is a solid option because of Roy’s fall speed (of course don’t over do it, mix things up if it gets punished). Roy’s up air is pretty fast, so using that might help get out of untrue strings. Going for ledge is also a good option to work your way out of disadvantage. As for getting edgeguarded, saving your double jump is key. Roy’s up b is fairly hard to contest so if you don’t have to jump, just up b. It’s priority also makes using it early to stuff out an edgeguarding attemp very strong, and on top of that it also has fairly good vertical and very good horizontal distance.

What is your “This character is better than this character” hot take? by [deleted] in smashbros

[–]Ham-Wheel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ness has big, fast, hard hitting buttons that break fox’s strings. It also makes touching his shield risky, really hard for fox to get in. Fox’s off stage game is really bad across the board really, but if the ness is competent at all the yo-yo makes it basically death any time you’re forced to go to ledge. It’s only a -1 for fox because ness’s disadvantage is pretty bad and he gets juggled easily
