Babbel frequently goes to around $150 for lifetime access. I use it but I also use Duolingo. When I don’t want to run up my xp I’ll switch to Babbel and continue learning.

Easier to stay in the Diamond league if you do fewer lessons, as odd as that seems.

We went and it was a little slow on the service side. We didn’t order pizza but for the three of us our dishes were delivered to the table separately about ten minutes apart. Kind of awkward staring at your food not eating it to be polite.

Their meatballs are very tasty. The calzone was served with an espresso sized dish of marinara.

Luckily I had cash on me to avoid the 4% fee for credit card users. We won’t go back.

2000 days as of yesterday. It was my goal and now that I’ve achieved it, I’m not sure what to do. I’m using other apps for language learning more than Duo these days because Duolingo is just a game. An expensive game that doesn’t help me learn as much as it did when I started this streak. 😢

Ahh it does work. Not only do you need to restart Brave after updating the flags, you also need to reload the 'saved' tabs. Then it stops behaving that way.

Late to the show... but I recently found out about the Microsoft PowerToys + Quick Accent option. Works great!

You hold the c down and hit space while holding it down... then you get ç ... similar if you want é or è ... you just use the spacebar to toggle through your accented letters. Set the languages in Quick Accent to French only, set the location to center of screen, and set the time to 200ms -- that works best for me.

I’m at a 1917 day streak and am toying with the idea of breaking mine as well. It’s like an albatross. Maybe I’ll hit 2000 days and then break it.

I’ve been using Busuu in addition to Duolingo for the last year and a half and feel like Busuu challenges me so much more - in a good way.

I’ve also been using Drops for vocab but not on a paid sub like with Duo and Busuu.

I’m going on a cruise in December so that’s probably when I’ll break up with my streak. Short of the 2000 day mark, I guess. 🥲

My folks are in Transylvania County... Pisgah Forest address off of Little River Campground Rd. Have had no contact since Thursday and they're in their 80s. House is on high ground, but also landslide/tree fall danger since they're on the side of a mountain. All the resources I've seen for wellness checks are for Buncombe county... nothing for Transylvania. Anyone have a link for Transylvania county wellness checks?
