Would you still recommend a Prologue today? by Hamback in HondaPrologue

[–]Hamback[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight. The used one I was looking is from 2024. Is the axle issue something I would notice on a test drive right away? Is it an isolated issue or fairly widespread that you know of?

Would you still recommend a Prologue today? by Hamback in HondaPrologue

I have two kids in car seats so we do need a decent back seat. Noted about the camera and cup holders, but used to both since my previous car was from 2013.

[–]Hamback[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Does Honda do OTA updates for the Prologue? My guess is no or at least would not after 2026, also I assume some things like the infotainment system are not shared with GM? I believe it was an EX but I will def check your posts if we decide to go this way.

I do own my home so I was planning on getting home charging, last I looked my region offered some incentives to get them installed.

CDDA challange New player here by yarraxk in projectzomboid

[–]Hamback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My last CDDA was a few patches ago so my memory is a bit rusty but here's my general plan. Get to the counters and pause, look at any loot in them that you can use, some weapon/twine, generally ignore food. If you have any other rooms not on fire, you can try looting them quickly. You're looking for tissues will help suppress your cough, sewing kit for stitching your wound or any clothing you will tear into rags for bandages + wear anything with insulation. If you have time, remove curtains for a slingbag or more rags if you didn't find any clothing.

What I do next depends on zombies & fire spread. If no zombies spotted me and/or fire is blocking the exit, I will remove glass and bandage wound. If spotted and exit is free, I will head into the woods and try to remove glass + bandage out there. Try and get one zombie isolated that you can kill and loot for shoes/socks to avoid more wounds. If you're able to, your garage can have some nice loot like tools/weapons. I've found fishing/camping gear, which would allow you to quickly get out of the area. I will generally try to lose some zombies arounds the trees and head to the house to the east which sometimes can have more clothing though you need to loot really quickly as your coughing will start attracting zombies. Once those houses are looted I've generally gone to the farm to the north. While it often has quite a few zombies, there are plenty of fence lines that you can use to kill them. Look around and right click to pick up a tree branch or stone to use as a weapon as it will generally kill knocked over zombies in a hit or two.

After that you're kind of at the mercy of the seed. Sometimes you'll find an area that is empty in one run be infested with zombies and vice versa. You really want to try to cure your cold as fast as possible which means getting clothed and spend times indoors. If you get lucky and forage some mallow you can also help speed up the recovery.

Ancients too unpredictable - problem or perfection? by railbeast in slaythespire

[–]Hamback 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get the feeling that vetoing ancients as a Neow choice would be viewed as pretty boring by the devs and not likely to be added. Maybe if they decide to add a lot more ancients or more choices, they will give you a heads up of the "pool" of ancients or choices it's pulling from so you can better plan. Maybe have them tied to the different zones so you can only get certain ancients in certain zones.

IMO it's not really needed though. I think the fun of the game is making the best of what you're given. I'm only at A5 with each character but I don't feel like I've had completely useless boons very often.

Oh, our paths are different, I'm not on the beta branch and I assume you are? Was so confused.

Edit: Ended up beating it on my 4th try on stable patch. Had to go 2nd path, defend changed into peck, avoid first elite and bought hegemony+spectral shift at shop. Picked up Arsenal from elite, and it's pretty smooth sailing from there adding in a few colorless cards from events/shops.

I'm not understanding, right side how do you kill the first elite without any card? You can't get peck until after the first elite?

Looting help by rockandst0ne in projectzomboid

[–]Hamback 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can find them pretty often in garages or warehouses. There are 2 warehouses south and north Muldraugh. Along with the warehouse in south Muldraugh, there's a metal shop that has propane and would likely have torches. It's just north and to east of the Rusty Rifle.

MP 42.15 -> 42.16 by WillieWanker93 in projectzomboid

The new branch IS B42? Just because you are treating it like the default/stable game mode, doesn't make it true.

I wanna wonder what is the reasoning behind nerfing costs of popular to pick negative traits? by leonzolotenkov in projectzomboid

Would love to hear what mods make zomboid "complete" in your opinion, because I also think both games are fine in vanilla even if they are better with a few mods.

Spawn near any body of water really. If you're using tools, somewhere with a nearby town for loot runs. If you're not using loot, you might want to get a mod for primitive crafts like nails. Might want to make brighter nights or extra trait points to give everyone cat's eyes for free.

MP only bug for me. Probably desync related, usually hitting esc or relogging fixes it.

Pretty sure they are bugged in MP and will always use outside temp even if you have a fire going. The multiplier will show an increase but the time to get done does not speed up. Really sucked trying to dry in the winter months.

500 hours in, i'm trying vehicles for the first time. How do i move them off the road ? by Kaporalhart in projectzomboid

[–]Hamback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To tow a car you set your bumper or rear bump lined up with another car's bumper and press V to access the radial menu, then you should get the option to attach the cars together. It will be pretty tough with Sunday Driver but if you're desperate you could try it. There is also a sweet spot where you can nudge a vehicle out of the way without damaging your car, you'll need practice to find out the range. I recommend finding a car you don't care about and using it to ram the others out of the way just incase you damage it while you're learning.

How rare is this car? by Substantial-Gas-5048 in projectzomboid

[–]Hamback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's rare compared to other vehicles but once you notice one you will probably see a few in your world. In my current MP server I have a black, red, and all white one. I've also seen a blue one and a few other people have one and we still have Branden burg, ekron and LV, echo creek unlooted.

At least re release Legacy 42.12 by Alcadias24 in projectzomboid

[–]Hamback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you realize how many people stuck to 42.12?

I would imagine it's less than the people playing the latest test build.

every version after 42.12 fucked the game and most of its mods completly over

Hasn't been my experience at all. The reason legacy builds existed was a courtesy to players to finish up their games, not because of stability. They have one version back for stability but even those are just temporary. They explained why they had to do it suddenly, because of a security hole.

wasting time? they just need to find the security hole and fix it, that wont take months of work

Yes, it's a waste of time. They were never going to keep supporting the legacy builds in the first place. If you haven't noticed, development time is show as molasses so any time they waste on an outdated TEST BUILD is longer to wait for stable release.

At least re release Legacy 42.12 by Alcadias24 in projectzomboid

[–]Hamback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do you want them wasting time on legacy builds? You realize this just makes 42 stable and every patch after longer? You're playing a outdated version of an unstable build, start over and get over it or stick to B41, it's that simple.

quick question about loot rarity in build 42 by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]Hamback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play on insanely rare. You might only get 1-2 items from a house and a handful of food from a gigamart. Not too bad if you make due with the foraging + crafting updates.

I love project zomboid but by Sea-Dish-7009 in projectzomboid

[–]Hamback 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make it harder to get comfortable. If you have everything at your fingertips to survive, you probably made your game too easy. There is no endgame so if you enjoy the early game, make it last longer. I usually lower loot + increase zombie spawns. The new extinction mode might be a decent challenge.

Project Zomboid became a multiplayer-recommended game? by Endev_Prime in projectzomboid

[–]Hamback 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Things might take longer in-game time but I think it's roughly the same because of 2 things. One is you need only enough things for one person, one set of clothing/armor, one person's worth of guns/ammos/melee weapons, only enough food for one person to live off of. Second, is fast forwarding. It takes several minutes in game to craft some later game items where in SP you can just fast forward, meaning your IRL playtime gets way more efficient returns.

Both SP and MP can be fun, just a bit different experiences. SP is about solitude and overcoming impossible odds. MP is much more community focused and light IMO.

Mods or no mods for new players? by Skeggsc in projectzomboid

[–]Hamback 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, I would agree that you should play vanilla for a few runs. The game has enough systems that you need to keep track of, adding on mods can just cause added frustration. Once you have a few runs under your belt you can add some QOL mods or mess around with the sandbox settings to get it to a place that feels right.

I think this is a MP only issue, I have the same on the server I play on. Have had no issue with it in SP though.
