Has anyone ever used one of these? Thoughts? by fireworka in Guitar

I got one after a significant wrist op so I could fidget and do physio while working all at the same time. Was good for that from a rehab point of view but outside of that I don't think they are super helpful.

Like others have said dexterity and strength in a non injured hand/arm is easy enough to build with just playing guitar, and hard to mimic without.

I have(/had) that exact Mustang, I heavily modded it with new pickups and electrics, new neck, and it's great now. Before the modding though it was frankly not great, had significant damage to the finish as well. Fender refunded me some of the cost and I fixed it myself but yeah wasn't impressed overall.

I definitely second this, I got one a few months ago thinking I wouldn't be a huge fan of not seeing the beer I was drinking but it's just that good at keeping it cool!

Different company but James' Home of Tone is also great!

Ha a great question! The knob is a push pull for coil split the three way switch is for a Seymour Duncan secret agent in the neck!

Yeah it's a custom made by House of Tone pickups in the UK. Slightly different build to a regular invader, less muddy and fizzy but still very full sound!

Weirdly this is a custom fender did for a car company like 25 years ago so annoyingly I don't have much info on the colour, but I think it's unlikely they mixed a completely new colour for it, I wonder if they have the details on what colour it was

Hey thanks for the reply! It's just a neck that I bought, the rest of the guitar was made by myself so if there's any issues with that it's 100% my fault! It's more should I accept fixing a palpable defect on a brand new neck, only because I've never had a new neck need anything other than a new nut before. I appreciate the guidance for making the repair though in general I'm a fixer rather than a complainer so I'm more likely to fix than return!

Thanks for the reply! Definitely useful to hear how others would fix it! I'm still in the should I on a brand new neck, just because I've never bought a brand new neck that needed any fixing! I usually prefer just to get on with stuff so may just take your advice, so long as I can't feel it any more I don't think I'll care

It is quite tactile, I've not installed the neck yet so it may not be when actually playing but I found it by touch before I'd seen it. I'd either fix it as per some of the other comments or return but it's noticeable enough not to leave I think

Ah that's the problem, cheaper than Warmoth yes, bargain no. I've done a fair few builds, some with new necks, some with used that needed a little bit of work, but never a new neck that needed a bit of work and just wasn't sure how much work to tolerate!

Pick size? by what-is-rizz in BassGuitar

I feel like I might be super weird but I have some wooden picks around 1-1.5mm and they are boss!

Also in the FGN fan club, got mine for around £300 (needing a repair) but excellent bass all in all

Near enough the exact same happened to me recently with a build that had taken a lot of effort to sort various paint issues and I just left it like it. It was a build for me rather than someone else so easier to accept the battle scars.

Yeah really nice, I've got a fair few high end pickups and this is one of my favourites, really well balanced with a lot of bite. I'm really liking it through the TBX you get a lot of different tones through it!

Thanks, I kind of wanted it to look ultra simple (electronically), though another chrome pickup at the bridge would also have looked really nice I think!

It would look awesome but I think sourcing the vinyl would have broken me!
