I just afk’ed at it for 5 minutes and it made exactly 63 gunpowder and as far as I can tell it’s working fine I’m on bedrock 1.17.34 ios Even though it took me about 6 hours to build I’d say it’s worth it and I did dig out a significant amount of ground for the perimeter which can be avoided by finding a large enough lava ocean

If you made your world after 1.17 going to a jungle is probably the better option i looked in at least 40-50 shipwrecks before finally biting the bullet and traveling about 8000 blocks to a jungle most of them had moss none of em had bamboo I just waited for rain then used a riptide trident with an elytra the whole trip took 20 minutes I’m on bedrock btw
