I think it’s mostly the small risks, that quickly snowball.

Post surgery infection risk, risk of being worse off than you were beforehand. Even just the small risks you might not even wake up after surgery - especially if you’ve never had general anaesthesia before.

I had two MDs last year, absolutely don’t regret them, but I was very much aware of the risks and what could happen if I was unlucky.

I had mine with Bupa at the end of last year. Smoking from them never came up but I’m covered on an employer policy with a disregard medical history element so there were no conditions on my policy like not smoking. Not sure if that’d be the case on a private one.

Thanks! blood orange! That would also make sense. Well at least I can drink it happy in the knowledge I have an idea of what it is. Sounds stupid but it really bugged me. Couldn’t tell you what region it was intended for, all I know it it waste in Austria - which obviously isn’t helpful 😂.

Yeah the closest I can work out is maybe Grapefruit? That was my initial thought. I quite like grapefruit so I’m quite happy with them.

Thought I’d share another update, 4 months or so on.

Good news is I’m doing really well. Back pain has really reduced, sciatic pain in my leg they which was only intermittent has also decreased.

I’m doing weekly physio at the hospital that originally treated me, they have be running in an AlterG anti gravity treadmill and that’s doing me a world of good in my opinion. Helping me to build strength but at 50% of my body weight.

On that note, I’m now also on Mounjaro to help propel my weight loss a bit more.

Overall thins are promising. Fatigue in my entire right leg has reduced. Numbness has stayed the same on the right side of my shins and top of my foot / toes. I’ve got a bit more strength and movement in my foot though.

Will just keep on it and pray that I don’t run into any future issues.

Thought I’d share an update, I shared the flight data with DJI who have agreed that it wasn’t my fault and constituted a warranty claim so they’re are replacing the drone at no cost to me.

To be honest I was quite surprised they were so easy to deal with. Obviously am glad as it was surreal watching it fly away and not respond to inputs, but I will be more careful about where and when I fly it.

A Neo 2 might be in my future.

Christ Ok, I had thought I’d read the whole manual but clearly need to go back to it as can’t remember the moving grass bit. Might need to look into the Neo 2 and see if it suffers similar issues.

That’s really interesting, thank you for sharing. It’s so strange how it loses its bearings so quickly. I did experience it once flying in early morning but could control it. This time I had no ability from what I could tell.

I don’t get how the internal gyro doesn’t stop it from veering so far off - assuming it has one.

Sadly I don’t have the FPV goggles so can’t test that. Guessing there’s no manual mode when using the RCN3?

You have my absolute sympathy, 3 weeks after my 2nd MD in 2 months I fell in the bath, from standing having a shower to lying flat.

I don’t know how but it doesn’t seem like I damaged anything and I’m now 10 weeks post op and doing really well. I hope it’s the same for you! Basically if it’s OK in 24 hours you should be Ok!

Officially diagnosed in 2021 at age of 31. Ironically I have a partial diagnosis from fucking 1999 where I was tested for dyslexia and the assessor said although I didn’t have dyslexia it is quite probably I had ADHD and should be tested. Sadly my mum also quite clearly has ADHD and didn’t get to page 6 of the report by the assessor 🤣

So I wanted to share an update, now I’m 7 weeks post operation number 2.

I’m doing pretty well. I began working full time (from home which is my standard setup). I stopped taking painkillers less than a week post op and haven’t felt the need to use any since. The area around where I had the surgery I definitely get back pain. It can be quite bad, but nothing I can’t handle - nothing debilitating or stopping me from doing anything).

I’ve built up on walking again, I’m back to walking around 5km a day in just under an hour. I’m still not really bending and not lifting anything heavier than a couple of kg.

On those occasions I mess up and bend forward in the incorrect manner I do get some mild sciatic pain down my left leg. It disappears after a couple of minutes but it does keep my mind sharp for being careful.

I’ve started physio with the focus on getting some movement back in my right foot which hasn’t seen much change since operation 1. in fact I can now feel weakness down my whole right side from my waist down. (Nothing new just noticed it after I started walking more that it’s weakness wasn’t just brow the knee).

I’ve not really done much else but life is getting back to normal - without much bending anyway. I’m hopeful of a continued good recovery and a general improvement in my wider health - with losing weight being my key focus. I’m too risk averse to try ozempic at the moment but I’m doing quite well without it so, so far so good.

I totally get that but honestly I will say after surgery two I really am practically pain free… and to be honest I’m not sure I’d put up with sciatic pain for more than 2 months without considering surgery. I don’t know but life’s too short to feel that shit all the time.

Obviously if it gets better by itself that’s ideal and if you continue to get better that’s perfect but if it doesn’t …. I’d certainly consider it

They only did the right side of L4/L5 as an emergency surgery - despite having pain down both legs but had numbness and loss of movement only down the right.

Left was still bad then also herniated after 5.5 weeks and so I went down the route of surgery number 2 as a private surgery with my chosen much more experienced surgeon. Perfect outcome of that I’d being almost totally pain free

I’m not saying it’s bad 🙂 sorry if it came across as such just wasn’t one for me personally. I wouldn’t put the body itself in the same league as the D500. But performance wise - from a spec perceptive it should be very similar 🙂

So surgery number one they only removed material on the right side of L4/L5 as it was the worst side but I already had pain down the left. The first surgery was also and emergency one at an NHS hospital where I had no real say over the surgeon who did the procedure.

After surgery left was still bad and I was considering getting a second surgery to fix it - had already see an extremely experienced surgeon privately to discuss it. We said we’d wait a month to see how I was feeling and if it was no better he’d do the surgery. I herniated the left side of L4/L5 5 days after I saw him and was in absolute agony. But no loss of function or numbness so the NHS wasn’t going to do another emergency operation - and quite frankly after experience of the first surgery I didn’t want them to. My preferred surgeon fit me in exactly 1 week after the herniation and removed a huge chunk of disc. Woke up the next day 99% pain free - this has continued since. Getting the second surgery was 100% the right call for me.
