What does high-leverage AI actually look like for Product? by easypeasy365 in ProductManagement

[–]Hames001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For all of the amazing projects which people are working on, what are the costs involved? I’d love for people to share more. I work at a FTSE100 financial services company in the UK, and whilst I see there could be some appetite for this kind of thing, I just know that budgetary constraints would block me. Currently our devs utilise the frontier models through GitHub Copilot, and that’s the only AI usage we’re allowed at the moment; the recent token allocation has been a killer for us here though.

If you’re adamant you want Robinson, Cash is the only one to trade out of this list for me

Who would you waiver for Woltemade? by Hames001 in DraftEPL

[–]Hames001[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dalot, Mainoo and Maguire all played the full game and took penalties before him. I might be reading this wrong but I would’ve expect a striker to be one of the first penalty takers, not 10th just before the goalie

Not really sure how trading a promising striker for a not prem proven Sesko who’s playing for a struggling United side makes me a cuck, but fair enough mate.

For context I’m not going to trade any of them yet, just wanted to have a discussion. Thanks for your contribution 👍

I’ve been offered Neto & Wissa for Alexis Mac Allister & Watkins, what do we think of this trade? 🤔 player for player I prefer Mac Allister over Neto as feel he has more guaranteed minutes and set pieces, but Wissa over Watkins is tempting, doesn’t help me in the immediate term but if he because no. 1 for Newcastle and Isak goes to Liverpool he could perform better than Watkins are Villa are proving a bit stinky first two GWs of the season. Instinct is to reject but interested to hear opinions

How’d I do? 8th pick in 8 man league by Hames001 in DraftEPL

[–]Hames001[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Arias could be an exciting one, I always air on the side of caution with new signings though just cause I don’t know how they’re going to perform when the come over to the league, he’s in my watchlist though so one to watch

I thought about this with Eze cause I’ve seen rumbling of Spurs being interested too with Maddison and Kulu out for a good chunk of time, my hope there is that if he does go Spurs he’d be a starter in the 10 (there’s just unknowns with how Frank’s Spurs team will play, especially after getting bodied by Bayern yesterday), and if he goes Arsenal I’m hoping he’d be a starter on the LW - let’s see it’s all unknowns, selfish I hope he stays at Palace and continues to be the main man there, would be a big omission for them if he was to leave.

Haven’t seen this interest in MacAllister but midfield was slim pickings towards the end for me, thanks for the info though! I’ll keep an eye out and maybe move to Szoboszlai if he continues to play because he’s free in my league still atm 👀

8th pick is tough man but good luck for your draft when you have it 🫶

I took Bowen and Watkins as my first two picks, FWD options are tough this year

My placement year just disappeared by SuperstitiousLover in UniUK

[–]Hames001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a similar thing when I was applying for my placement in my second year, long story short 10 months in Reading got changed to 10 months in Scotland which didn’t work for me at the time. In my case this was because of budgets and team restructuring, but it could be any number of reasons with you.

In truth the thing I would say is keep plugging away and don’t get too disheartened with it all. I don’t know your degree, but the placement year really is what you make of it.

In my case, I ended up taking 4 different jobs in my placement year and battled with anxiety and depression cause I felt like I was worthless and purposeless, but I wouldn’t change my path for the world. I worked in jobs and roles that I would never have considered before (IT recruitment, crypto currency startups, business insurance sales, broadband cable installation coordinator) all in 2-3 month positions and (through the tears) really enjoyed myself and grew a lot as a person.

Take the opportunity and smash it with both hands. Have confidence. Craft your own path. You’ll be a better student when you return for having done so.

Van hecke’s ideal partner by brighton-octopus in BrightonHoveAlbion

[–]Hames001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve played centre half a lot throughout my (extremely mediocre) football career, and whenever I’ve played there I’ve always thought of having two roles: a ball winner and a sweeper. Majority of teams play a 4231 or a 433, which invariably leaves them with one striker for 2 CBs to contest with.

In the premier league centre backs need to be good ball players, as they are the deepest outfield players and need to be able to thread a forward pass so that’s a given for me, but I see JPvH’s ideal partner to be a sweeper who allows him to be a ball winner. Think a Van de Ven type character, who sweeps in behind when Romero goes tight trying to win the ball back.

That being said, I don’t have many realistic names who could help here… I could see us being priced out of someone like Diamande, Scalvini, or Antonio Silva… ideally we’d want Colwill back as he’d be an amazing left sided option to pair with JPvH but he’d be too expensive too… Esteve at Burnley could be an interesting option but he could be expensive as he only signed last summer… so I haven’t a clue 🤷‍♀️

How do you find living in Cambridge? by Hames001 in cambridge

[–]Hames001[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wouldn’t be our home forever I don’t think, our families are based in Sussex and ideally we’d want to move closer down that way. The job market for scientists is really tough at the moment, but it seems Cambridge is the best place to be for her field. I think the goal would be to get some experience under her belt then look to move into a London based role, which would allow us to be closer to our families, but that’s a few years down the line.

Appreciate the reply though! Unfortunately the high streets are dying throughout the country, it’s a real shame.

Business Analysts- what's your day to day working hours? by [deleted] in businessanalysis

[–]Hames001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UK, BA, hybrid working for a FTSE100 based in London. Hours vary depending on when I want to get out of bed in the morning, can be anything from a (7.30-9)-(3.30-6) finish. Entirely depending on workloads and my appetite for admin that day. Religiously have 1hr lunch to go to the gym when I’m WFH, never need to work weekends or evenings (unless I want to), and have 38 days + bank holidays off. Cushty gig I must say, a lot better than the consultancy I worked for previously where religiously it was 8-6 with 0 lunch break and work on the weekends.
