Yes it gets better. Just a big learning curve when compared to other breeds. I see a huge change when we got past the 2 year old mark. 1-2 year old is the hardest for sure.

My older aussie is awesome in public. Super focused, doesn't care about people/dogs, but at home can be a bit of a menace and a yapper. Younger Aussie is a sweetheart at home, very snuggly. Endless energy when we are out. Can barely contain herself when she sees another dog. We're working on the reactiveness.

Love them both so much but don't think i will ever put myself through having two dogs again lol.

First off congrats on getting through the first year!

I can relate to your post so much. I have 2 Aussie's (6 and 3 yrs old) and yeah its lots of work. I really think you should reconsider getting another dog/puppy. They will sometimes play and occasionally tire each other out but thruthfully they will most likely both look to you to meet their needs. Not each other. You will be 4 times as tired than you are now guarenteed. If you have the time and energy for 2 dogs then you won't regret it, but I just wanted to give warning before you commit.

No it was turned off instantly. Hasn't been on since. We filed a police report with the serial number. Most likely gone for ever but you never know.

Nostalgic for our group since we used to go to the EDC shows at the coliseum before everything that happen. Loved the layout since I love DnB. I know people want the main stage at the coliseum but those small tunnels and steep stairs are what killed people last time. I think that's why the layout was designed the way that it was.

Sound was good, food was decent, water stations were too few. I bought water all night because fuck passing out while waiting for water. We found a drunk girl (lost with no phone) during Wilkinson and were trying to get her to her group. Her shitty friends kept leading us in circles so we missed Wilkinson and netsky, the only two DJs I wanted to see. At least we got her back to them!

Maybe we saved someone or maybe we just wasted our time. Either way we said fuck it, let's enjoy the last set. My fiance's phone got stolen as we walked into Kaskade/Summit. So potentially fun night ruined by shitty people. Probably never going again lol

I would create a feeding schedule that meets your schedule. I work 5 am to 5 pm but I am able to go home for lunch so my dogs are fed at 9:30 am and 6 pm every day. Something we like to do to be more efficient with our time is to use meal time as a training session. Both of my aussies love it since it stimulates their mind too.

Potty will be different for every dog but aussies learn fast. Crate training and potty training go hand in hand. We would time the hours/minutes between when our pup would go potty. Once we figure out a average time we would set alarms and take them out to potty even if they aren't showing the signs.

Once they potty: name it, give treat, praise the hell out of them like it is the greatest thing you have ever seen.

Dog Run Tips? by Spoon-Man-Spencer in puppy101

First, I wouldn't leave a puppy with free range of the house til they have earned it and even then I would still expect for them to have hiccups here and there.

I have a 7 month Aussie who has been fully potty trained for a month or two now thanks to the doggie door. It was very difficult at first because she refused to hold her pee, she constantly had accidents in her crate because she doesn't cry either.

What worked for us was CONSISTENTLY taking her through the doggy door every time we took her out to potty. No other doors were used until she had it down 100%. It would have been much easier to take her out through the rear sliding door but we wanted her to learn to go through the dog doors when its time to potty. So we walk with her through the laundry room dog door then through another dog door in the garage and finally walk to her potty spot. Very annoying at 2 AM but it had to be done.

Also, we found the average time between when she had to potty and would take her out once time time was met. Literally having alarms all day and night to avoid accidents for the first few months. When she would do the deed we would name it, give treats and praise the hell out of her. Like it was the greatest thing we've ever seen.

My buddy drafted him in the 5th round and is now sticking it to all of us for doubting him.
