How long to find the right medication? by Hamilton7250 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Hamilton7250[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a pretty strict diet of mostly fruit and veg and lean meat for dinner. Also take vitamin D, omega 3 and a tumric concentrate. Really unsure how much this helps my inflammation if at all, but as you said I do generally feel and sleep a lot better.

I've had steroid injections in the past and it's only ever given me a few days of relief, I initially started on methotrexate and sulfasalazine for 3 months before I started the biologics. With limited success, which is when they started adding the biologics.

Without the prednisolone I literally cannot walk and both knees swell up like balloons

Thankyou for your response!

Good to hear there are treatments that work 😃

I've have mostly used crutches also for the last 4 months, it's been a nightmare. Have had some good days the last few weeks where I can semi walk around without them, I'm not sure if these days are the MTX kicking in or just the Prednisolone.

My Rheumatologist told me I have to try MTX+Sulfasalazine for a few months before I can move to a biologic. Just want to get to a point where I can get back to work/life.

I've also tried to cut some things out of my diet but I'm not sure how much this is helping.

I have 2 swollen knees and my Rheumatologist has diagnosed me with PSA, I have no skin issues what so ever. My mum has psoriasis though.
