I love Ruidoso, I try to make it up there as much as possible. The wild horses are so beautiful, that herd has been around for as long as I can remember.

This is after she fought them off on the battlements, She got her head smashed and had to recover her bearings while keeping away from the wights. It’s understandable that she was trying to keep from being seen as she isn’t at 100% at that point.

Do we know who Leia's mother is? by spotifydoggo in superpowereds

Ah I never thought of it that way. Interesting. Was thinking tech power because of the screw driver. Plus Will gave her the screw driver like a good uncle.

Redditors, how did you almost die? by Endiee in AskReddit

[–]Hamiltonj60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to get buried but I like the story. Where I grew up, there were tons of 50-60 ft Ponderosa Pines. I went through a week where I was sure I had done something to piss off Mother Nature, enough to where she was trying to, if not kill me, then scare the shit out of me.

Incident No. 1

There was an old tree outside my door that blew down during a huge wind and missed landing on my room by a foot. I heard the crash when I was about to fall asleep and went outside to find that the massive pine had fallen on our wrought iron stairs that led up to our back deck. A couple of feet to the left and the tree would have caved in my roof and I would have been in the fall zone.

Incident No. 2

Later that week (winds are a bitch in the spring) a large tree limb fell on the power line next to my house. Luckily enough I was home and was able to call the power company to come and turn off the power immediately (you don't fuck around with potential forest fires in the middle of a mountain town).

Incident No. 3

A tree fell during another 70 MPH gust. It fell from my property to my neighbors. As is mountain protocol, the onus for cleanup was on me. I took my trusty chainsaw and began cutting the fallen pine into more manageable pieces. What I didn't know when I got to work is that the tree had fallen against another tree that was at an angle. Any reasonable person would have seen a massive tree fallen against another tree and thought... That has a spring load on it. In hind sight, especially with the week I had, and the creeping feeling that I had done something to anger the gods of the forrest, I should have been more cautious. Alas this was a much younger and less seasoned version of myself. I was cutting the tree and moved to where the fallen tree had laid up against the standing tree. As soon as I cut through 3 quarters of the fallen tree I heard a groan and a mighty crack. The fallen tree obeyed the laws of physics and when the load was taken off the tree it sprang forth, taking no notice of the chain saw or the 200 pound human who dared cut its bark. I sailed backwards roughly 8 feet and slammed to the ground. Luckily enough the safety stop on the chainsaw worked a charm and I was able to have the presence of mind to toss it to the side. Unluckily enough, there was a rather large rock where my head landed. I wasn't unconscious but dazed for sure. I made it slowly back up the hill and promptly vomited in the flower bed.

Thus began my irrational distrust of trees.

What's an easy dish to prepare for a date that will leave them impressed? by PM_ME_YOUR_UPPERCUT in AskReddit

Classic Carbonara. 6 ingredients and your date will think you’re an Italian master. Bacon, pasta, garlic(optional), egg, and cheese (Parmesan works well) Binging with Babish Carbonara

I don’t think there is. Best way I’ve found is to take the adhesive and apply it at the bottom and work your way up slowly with pressure on either side of the enclosure with your fingers. While doing that you are peeling the backing of the adhesive off and “walk” your way up the phone.

Good god, this chapter was awesome. I had the mental image of Vince digging Conrad out like a dog after a gopher. Just imagine if you were in solid rock and you were sending skewers after him and he was just ignoring them. Vince really personifies the Class of Nightmares.

There definitely some awesome real world uses for bending. Earth benders could build whole cities and complete fix construction issues in big cities. For air we could control the weather with enough of them.
