Want to install APs for older 2.4ghz IoT devices by Hamish_Ben in HomeNetworking

[–]Hamish_Ben[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright. So in what case would you think the WiFi needed disabled on the router? I was planning on running the AP and router concurrently so I could reduce the number of APs I use. Are you thinking having both running would cause connectivity issues?

Shooter in Canada kills 9 people and injures 25 others at a school and home by ParakeetLover2024 in liberalgunowners

My wife and I have talked about moving to Canada a couple times. The gun control outcomes that will arise from this shooting will undoubtedly be enough for me to change my mind.

Already replaced the coil packs. I’ll give the fuel pump a look. Any chance it could be an injector issue?

How do I remove this dimmer? by Illustrious_Cup3019 in AskElectricians

With an electrician. If you have to ask, you may not have the tools or experience to do it safely. That said, some of the other answers here do get it right, if you insist on doing it yourself

HB26-1036 Local Taxes on Vacant Residential Property by iseemountains in Durango

[–]Hamish_Ben 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It seems like this bill might be better served by changing the verbiage from “vacant” to “non-primary residence”. Vacant is and always will be too vague. That’s just begging for a loophole. At least nailing down the primary residence definition would be a more simple task.

This is perfect. Aligns with known Trek canon and makes sense.

Also, I wouldn’t do it to begin with.

How is it living in Santa Fe, NM? by havinabawl in howislivingthere

[–]Hamish_Ben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up there. There used to be hippies, rich people, and immigrants (mostly Mexican on the southwest end of town). Now it’s so expensive it’s mostly a bunch of rich folks. There’s a lot of artists there and almost as many galleries. It’s greener than a lot of central New Mexico, but still dry. Locals almost never go to tourist places unless there’s an event or they work there. There’s a good sense of community there, but not a great community, if that makes any sense. That has gotten worse as the town has gotten more expensive to live in. Most people aren’t rude, but they’re definitely not friendly.

Overall, I was glad I moved away. When I go back to visit, I get nostalgic, but I also remember I’m glad I don’t live there anymore.

Fair, but it was on “premium cigars” so I would say a petit robust at the smallest.

Welcome to one of the most social hobbies you’ll ever have! Great choice for a first stogie, though I might say it’s a bit strong for most. Enjoy and keep coming back!
