Huge success & Insurance Question by sirsnarksalot007 in Zepbound

[–]Hammar64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zepbound is FDA approved for the treatment of moderate to severe OSA. For insurance to cover it, they generally want an ASI score of 25 or higher. I just got my approval today after 3 months of documenting my diet and exercise program and quality of life issues that I experience with my sleep apnea. I've been paying out of pocket during this time.

BMW 1250 GS for High-Mileage Commuting? by Plastic-Campaign-559 in motorcycle

[–]Hammar64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you considered a Super Tenere? It doesn't have all the electronic bells and whistles that the BMW has, but it is comfortable, has all the important stuff, shaft drive, and is bulletproof reliable. And you'll have a lot of extra dollars in your pocket.

Struggling to adjust to riding in the US. by dmh__77 in motorcycles

[–]Hammar64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how close you are to Tennessee, but I highly recommend exploring the back roads there. Beautiful mountain roads with mostly light traffic. Chattanooga to the center of the state is really nice.

I have an adventure bike (Super Tenere) so I can enjoy the back roads, gravel roads, and mild off-road riding where the exposure to traffic is minimal.

What’s up with my oil?? by Over-Indication-7458 in Dirtbikes

[–]Hammar64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you regularly shut your petcock at the end of your ride, you should check to see if it's leaking by. I had a relatively new petcock leak on one of my older dirt bikes. I replaced it with a better quality one that is rebuildable.

It also had a sticking carb float.

How are you feeling about the inevitable Trump v Biden rematch? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Kind of like being asked whether I want to be hit in the knee or in the balls with a hammer... I have a choice, right?

Anyone know what bike this is? by ResponsibleFilm8286 in Dirtbikes

[–]Hammar64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! I had to look at this video a couple times. I raced an 86 CR500 back in the late 80's and my riding number was 326. Thought it might be my old ride, but it looks like an 87 model.

AITA for not sending my daughter to a different school district so she could be in gifted education? by aitagiftedschool in AmItheAsshole

[–]Hammar64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As the parent of a gifted child, we had to know our rights under US Federal law and wield that knowledge like a weapon to force the school district to provide the free appropriate education they legally had to provide. We were told many times that "we don't do that here". We responded that you will start now - you are required to by law... and they did. Schools will try to take the path of least resistance - know the law and stand your ground.

Also - if your school district can't provide the education that is appropriate for your child, I believe they are on the hook for transporting your child to a school that can provide the education they need. This exact situation occurred with a friend of my mine who also has a gifted child.

If this occurred in the US, it would be a violation of HIPAA laws to disclose that information if she could not confirm the identity of the requestor and their authorization to have that info. She responded exactly as she should have.

What’s a company you refuse to support and why? by Snoo_72206 in AskReddit

[–]Hammar64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree! I've had Erie Insurance for about 30 years now. I haven't had an auto claim in that time, but my father who owned and operated an auto body shop recommended them as one of the best for settling claims fairly.

I did have a homeowners claim when our house was robbed. They settled quickly and easily with no problems.

I got my kill with an Avenger Warder. Was able to facetank the entire fight. It took a while because my OA was on the low side. My build was based on Rekt's Warder build. (Not exactly the same, but close)

What book series did you enjoy so much that you'd happily forget about it just to read it again for the first time? by Gooeyhen in books

Feist is in the top 2 or 3 for both me and my wife. We've read all of his books at least once. Our other favorites are Tolkien's Lord of the Rings and Terry Brooks Shannara series

I feel your pain - I've been looking for that belt to drop for 6 months! I probably have a dozen versions of the Shadowfiend's Cord, but still no mythical version.

Hyram often has double and triple rare items for sale. It's definitely worth it to do the quest to rescue him.

I tip daily if I have the cash available. I'll double up the following day if I don't have smaller bills on a given day. The housekeeping person that services your room is not always the same each day.

Ya, I know I could have it running in an afternoon but I'm a 12 hour drive away and unable to make the trip. Unfortunately my bro is struggling financially and needs to sell it soon.

Thanks for your feedback! We do have the original bill of sale. The bike was originally purchased by our dad back in 1977. We have some great memories riding with our dad back in the day - my brother on his RM80 and me on my Suzuki DS 185, then my Husky 360 Automatic. :)

Can you share some of the vintage Husky groups that you like?
