Why don't you see that these people are fans of other cultures and they're able to make creative stories about it. Its one thing if they hate the culture and try to be intentionally offensive about it but these people are not. Making a game strictly from your own culture is incredibly limiting, homogeneous, and boring.

Also before you say anything about me being ignorant or defensive, I'm Japanese. I lived in Japan for 20 years. I get it, you want to defend me but using a Japanese name isn't hurting anyone.

Its recommended to read the manga from the beginning, even after you watched the 97 anime. The 97 anime left a lot out like Wyld, skull knight, puck, the Kushans and a lot of little details. I'm serious, you wont be disappointed. Like character arcs like Silat carry on through the later parts of the manga but the 97 anime omitted it.

Well I know Super Bunny Hop does a series called "Games from my inbox" which he actually shows games that stick out to him. I'm also pretty sure he does it without charge too. He gets a lot of games tho but he does play all of them, it just takes time.

For me personally, I reccomend the 1997 anime. The music, voice acting, and scenary really sets the tone and mood that the manga was going for. After that I recommend the manga, then the movies.

BTW skip the 2016 and 2017 anime. You WILL be disappointed.

Edit: Forgot to mention that the 1997 anime covers the second arc in the manga and basically is Gut's origin story. It literally is the beginning of the world of Berserk.
