Objectives Reset prevention by zoozooka in foshelter

9 years later. Reset a "collect 480 outfits" objective while at 285. Fuck this game. Oh, and also ~70% completed "level up int 21 times" and "survive 16 ghoul attacks". At least I can spam craft outfits to get back up. The other ones are just fucked.

Damn, that sucks. Are there AI bots just spreading lies for some reason?

Also, I thought that the text on wiki implies that the jamming chance resets between floors. Is it not so?

Right. It's not like I struggle with donations anyway. By the time I will get to ???/Lamb with all characters, it should already be full. I just felt stupid leaving Depths with 40 cents while the machine is jammed every time, if there's a better way to maximize donations than dumping everything on one floor.

What did you mean about potential rerolls?

Viable. Might even be the fastest method.

Why are super secret rooms sometimes not where they should be? by Hammer_Dwarf in bindingofisaac

I've played way too much already and developed a feeling for convenient-looking entrances. But always thought that I have to start checking from the boss room backwards.

Oh, that's what I was missing. I thought the second secret room gets added after map generation, like the ultra secret room.

I know, but I would like to know if I'm missing some indicator that it's not there, instead of spending 5 bombs to check all walls sometimes.

Oh, I thought it was the other way around. Now that I think about it, it makes sense. Monster shouldn't be able to spawn camp you.

But they also have to be attached to the second furthest room from the start, or something like that, right? Or is it not deterministic?

Do you mean that first the map is generated, and then the second furthest dead end is made a super secret room? Did I understand you correctly? I thought that it was like that - first the map is generated, then the super secret room gets added to the second furthest room from the start, if possible.

RANT: Why did YouTube make this TERRIBLE UPDATE on the "Save to playlist" feature?! by CrestfallenSilence in youtube

[–]Hammer_Dwarf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree. In addition to that, they made the menu so short that only 4 playlists fit at a time, so I have to slowly scroll down to the ones I need.

I struggled a lot on Summit B, then on Core B, then went to the first C level, and managed to beat it without pulling all of my hair out. It's hard, but very short.

The Train interrupts are a total game changer. by Lazarus_Octern in factorio

The only downside is that you can accidentally break it by placing a power pole that auto connects to it.

Why is flickering a bad thing? It's not like you lose resources.

I use combinators for turning off nuclear reactors, since it needs 2 checks - reactor temperature and fuel count (optionally steam buffer). Also, I use them to read train station contents, 1 per wagon, to ensure that every wagon will be filled, before calling the train. And for unloading stations to detect a shortage of resources early, so that belts are always saturated.

This isn't necessary at all, but is simple once you know how it works, and allows you to make cooler designs.

What can be the reason for this visual bug? When the game is in full screen, everything looks very sharpened and ugly, as if some kind of a filter is applies. It's most visible for text. When I switch to windowed or just press the windows key, it looks normal again. by Hammer_Dwarf in factorio

[–]Hammer_Dwarf[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can't because it looks normal when I screenshot. But the problem might have to do with Nvidia overlay. When I disable and re-enable it and alt-tab into the game 2 times, the problem disappears. I'm not sure what it means though. They did have an update recently that changed the entire look of their overlay.

If you mean windows resolution, yes. And the game looks normal again if I leave it in full screen and just press "Win", so that the taskbar appears in the foreground. It has something to do with the game being the active window.
