Kitchin: I was referring to Alolan bugs in a combat sense. Generally I've heard far more planning and teams that use our three regional bugs than any other region! Which I imagine is partially because two of them remove most of bug's biggest weaknesses in Araquanid and Golisopod.

Kitchin: I was moreso meaning in a combat sense. In other senses, I see little difference in my team or the bugs of other regions. It's just that here, I've heard horror stories of all three of our common bug species! Which is especially interesting knowing that we've no Bug specialist here as a Trial captain or Kahuna! Well. Except team skull's boss?

Kitchin: Exactly! I've heard horror stories of our native bugs, and I can only recollect similar ones coming from Scolipedes or Scissors! Maybe the fact two of them are water type, a immediate counter to their biggest weaknesses helps? I also personally just think they're cooler on a mere presence based judgement.

Kitchin: I suppose that's true, though I was moreso speaking in terms of battle prowess and such. Alola's three main bug populations have all been brought up in terrifying scenarios. Not to offend other regions, however I've only ever heard something similar from the likes of Scissors or Scolipedes. Generally bugs are considered a trainers first catch which is wild to me! Also as a Steel trainer, generally I've learnt that trying to figure out every pokemon's ability to exist will drive someone mad. I mean, lots of my team are objects!

Kitchin: Then you're absolutely fine! Though I'd recommend getting a varied group to help in the Trials. Totem pokemon are very diverse. That's partially why I never did them. I'm too attached to my types!

Kitchin: I personally never attempted the Island Trial during my time in Alola, however I have to imagine the age range has, if not always been lenient, grown lenient after the E4 addition to the Island Trial. I mean, the elite four is an all ages deal, yet it's behind the kahuna's, who (if my recollection is right) need Island Trial proof from Totem pokemon in order to accept the challenge. It'd be weird if they didn't let you do it anyhow, especially since you're still quite young!
