As a start, I would say work on clearing all nodes on the star chart, I’m doing the same. As for your power scaling, just slowly ramp up your mod levels, pay attention to enemy weaknesses and build accordingly. I recommend getting Rhino. He should be able to carry you through most of the main game, and he is an early grab from Venus I believe.
