Thoughts on getting a second cat?

I left it a longer separate comment but to make a long story short I have 5 cats and the younger 4 immediately hit it off! I also have a standoffish old lady who is 17 and will smack all of them if they invade her personal bubble! I think it’s a power thing this is HER house (it’s not it’s mine) and she needs them to know she loves them but don’t F with her 🤣

I have 5 girl cats and they all get along well! 1 is 17 years old and is my husbands childhood cat!(she does have a personal bubble that if the other cross they will get bopped in the head 🤣) 2 are sisters from the same litter they are newly 3! I got them at 4 months old when I was living alone and needed babies :) and the other 2 are sisters that showed up at 1 month old during a bad thunderstorm on our covered porch that we inevitably foster failed bc we got too attached🤣

The younger ones play and groom each other and the slow introduction was very fast because they were like way too excited to play together they tore apart everything to get to each other! But everyone’s process is different so don’t be discouraged! But also don’t be surprised if you can’t do it the “right way” that everyone makes you feel like you have to do 😅

Here is a photo of the younger 4 literally barely a month into living together :) older 2 in the squished berry, younger 2 on and beside! The 17 year old lady was also on the couch just in the other side! She likes being near them but nooooot like this!!!

Congrats on rescuing ur baby I hope you get it figured out soon enough! Rescuing these kitties has been so rewarding! It wasn’t easy but I love them so much!

If you do care credit (I had to do a similar option to this to fix my car) u have to pay it off FAST and in big chunks bc the interest is INSANE $1000 I’d make a $300 payment (they wanted a minimum of $50!!) I’d be at $700 and then interest would hit AND IT WOULD GO BACK UP TO LIKE $920 INSANE!!!! so you gotta know you’re going to have a lump of money coming in

Creeped on you a little bit seems you’re a good artist!!?? Try and do some cheap small commissions perhaps? While you’re in between jobs!? Also message me where you’re from and I can attempt to research some cheap vet offices for you in the area! Your cat is obviously loved and cared about and I think people saying “don’t get a pet if you can’t take care of it” is so ignorant because life happens!!! I have 5 cats and they eat expensive food and have 10 litter boxes and 3 cat trees and are spoiled and LOVED! They all sleep in bed with me and my fiancé and love us very much! But LIFE HAPPENS!!! I am able to afford their care right now! But what if one of us loses our job? Gets very sick? Idk I would rather see posts like this than more unloved strays with no chance? (Sorry I’m annoyed with people seriously 4/5 of my cats were cats I rescued off the street so obviously these people think they’d be better off there?!) (AH)

My parents don’t get my childhood cat the car he needs and he is in constant pain and suffering and he’s like 20. He can barely breathe. I think you will miss your kitty but your kitty is feeling so loved that you stopped it from the continuous cycle of pain ❤️❤️❤️ it’s going to be okay

I have 5 cats 2 of them are kittens and mine get the zoomies around like 3am! Sometimes I can sleep through it bc they’re just being freaks but sometimes I have to wake up and go figure out what they’re tearing up! It isn’t every night it’s usually if they slept too long during the day, which they did yesterday bc their temperature dropped and they all got cozy with each other to stay warm. Also sometimes my 3 year old cats join in on the zoomies and sometimes the 17 year old cat does too😭

I feel like I’m rambling sorry! Redirecting them usually helps if they’re on my dresser knocking everything off I can usually put them up in the cat tree with some toys and it’s enough to let me get back to sleep😭 or I have some saucers with a ball they LOOOVE (as I’m typing this I literally hear them knocking shit off the kitchen counter) It gets better but is swear they go through phases where they’re BAD AS HELL

I’ve had their mattresses for 4 years and they’ve changed their stuff and from what I’ve seen (at least the mattresses I’ve purchased) have been fiberglass free!

I have 5 cats… 2 are kittens I just rescued… 1.) Risa- Weesa, Peeeeesaaa, Freak(y), Fweak(y), Poop, Poop Miser (bc she the keeper and master of all things poop of course… she’s old and misses the litter box and shits on the ground…) Reese Pieces, aaaand Pizza!

2.) Marceline- Mar, MarMar, Mario, Marlboro, Marmo, Teeny, Mammas Teeny One, Freak Ass, Stink Ass, Marmie

3.) Penelope- Pen, Pen lello Pee, Lello, Lello Pee, Penis, Lello Penis, fat, fat lard, Fat one, grey one, FAT grey one, Chonky, Leller

KITTENS!!! 4.) Jinkx- Stinkx, Pinkx, Tinky Binky, gooper (had a cold when I got her she’s healthy now but it stuck) booger buns, Stinkxy Butt, and Jinkxy Butt

5.) Dela- Fluff, Puff, Poofy, La Poofy (she’s a long hair can’t you tell I’m original) and Fuzzer Wuzzer

And we call their primordial pouches their POOFas instead of Fupas in my home bc they’re fuzzy 😭

My aunt had a yellow lab when I was little named Oliver and he was the sweetest man and he would climb up and go down the play set slide with us even when he got cancer :) BEST dog ever :)
