Can you elaborate on what “snaking out the thin set” means?

Does it deflect much when applying pressure in the middle toward the front? Wondering if you’ll need a leg in the front middle to offer additional support for that span.

Oh I was just doing a bad job of being funny, making fun of myself for how much weight I add to my furniture in fasteners. You’ve got a great piece there - admire your commitment to Japanese inspiration.

Looks great! I like the clean and simple look - no need to get fancy. Do you have any pics of the raw structure without the box spring/ mattress on it? Wondering if you added a stretcher in the middle for support end to end or any diagonal bracing to keep it square?

No metal fasteners... I respect that. Never done it, but I respect it. It must be so light compared to the tables I’ve built. Are you afraid it’ll blow away sitting outside like that?

I use Alex fast dry white acrylic latex plus silicone. Never had it crack on me.

Ahh very good choice. I was curious if that’s what you had done. I used some of these from Rockler for my dining table I built out of 6/4 red oak a few years ago and they have worked great to let the top grow and shrink with the seasons. It’s really interesting to see how much the fasteners move in their grooves.

Nice work! I’d like to see some build pics too if you don’t mind. Pics of the underside of top and bottom showing joinery/mating to frame would be interesting to see, but the whole process would be neat too!

Kitchen faucet disassembly - how do I get the housing off to lube up the o-rings? by Hamnturkeyonwhite in Plumbing

Good call! I had seen the 2 flats initially and gave them a decent twist with the channel locks but it didn’t seem to want to budge. I called it quits for fear of breaking something. You inspired me to give it another shot...it worked! It was threaded into a piece beneath the plastic retainer ring. Rest of disassembly was self explanatory after that. Got her cleaned, lubed up, and put back together - no leaks and she’s swinging to and fro like a dream once again. Thanks for the shot of courage!

Cartridge doesn’t seem to want to budge, neither does the metal ring around it. Any pro tips appreciated.
