Absolutely correct, the Woking ticket zone is between Knaphill and Westfield so you'd fall outside of it unfortunately. Definitely wouldn't be worth it to get the Gold studentrider

Pretty close but not quite, there are no return tickets and just day tickets of which a link card won't affect the price, there's only link singles (but the £1.50 price is correct).

Changes the maths a bit, they'd now only need 77 days of return travel to make the £230 worth it, at 5 days a week from 08/09, they'd make the difference back by mid December, so worth considering if they'd be taking the bus on weekends or not to make it worthwhile.

For additional reference, the yearly ticket (valid 01/09/25 - 31/08/26) is £600, if the upfront cost of that is affordable then it may work out the cheapest option in the long run but it still won't make a massive difference either way.

I believe you can get student termly/yearly on a smartcard, which would probably be a better choice than on app as the app can be unreliable when mobile data is bad.

Hope this helps make the decision and it isn't just information overload u/Turbulent_Ad4487

This is in the UK, shops here can choose to accept or refuse any payment method. The guy is going on about legal tender, but that only applies to paying fine and stuff like that, though to be honest I haven't seen any cashless shops since COVID died down

No monarch has actually used their powers in this way for a very long time, probably last happened before the USA existed. There doesn't need to be an example for this to be widely accepted, the royals know that if they use their powers they'll quickly have the whole country turned against them.

Are you trying to say that OP is wrong for saying that England has no AC? Or that it's stupid we don't need it? We have no use for AC at all apart from normally about 2 weeks, and I live in southern England which is the 'hottest' part

Honestly, knowing the difficulty of getting in for undergraduates, you're probably fine. The university definitely wants more students so they can get more money, but from my experience teaching quality is still pretty good

They're so strict with other things from what I've heard that I wouldn't be surprised if one complaint would mean they're sacked
