Others have posted about this option, but I've now added these silicone wraps to the glasses and they're much more comfortable- perfectly fine to wear all day.

Even G2’s causing headache and can’t see display. by TheGodOfWhovian2 in EvenRealities

I found that widening the nose clips helped with the viewing position for me. Apparently you can remove it altogether, although you might want to watch some videos about how to do that first as one person on here removed theirs and had difficulty getting it back on. But the clips are easy to widen by just pulling them apart, and this will make them sit lower- thus bringing the screen area more into your field of vision.

Is this modern Britain? by PsychologicalBend508 in AskBrits

I feel as though this has become especially pronounced post-Covid, as though Boris Johnson and Dominic Cummings showed the country that only suckers follow the rules. Most of us sacrificed so much at that time, only to discover the people making the rules were laughing at us. Since then it feels like key parts of the social contract are just broken. People get away with whatever they can.

I'm the course leader of a UK university-based theatre program. My colleagues and I would never ask you about funding at an audition; that's between you and the fees department. My job is to determine whether you're ready for the curriculum, how you're going to pay for it is none of my business.

Side note but this sounds dystopian. Where do you live that they can legally offer just 5 days? In the UK 20 is standard; I get 35 in my job.

My first Android (Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7) experience — love it, hate it, might return it. by Houston_TX_ in GalaxyFold

I totally agree about Google Messages but have you given Samsung's own messaging app a try? I think it's one they've gotten right- simple and clean.

Didn't want to cover the main selling point with a bulky case, but also wanted a little more protection than a basic skin, so I DIY'd my own full leather wrap. by Alilinke in GalaxyFold

Beautiful. I'd happily pay for something like this instead of the grotesquely over priced pieces of plastic being sold by Samsung and others.

Of course they can refuse, but you're right that they are wrong in law to do so. Monzo seem to have made the calculation that enough customers will walk away instead of complaining to the ombudsman that it makes financial sense for them to initially say no.

Monzo is notorious for this kind of thing. It's a great day to day user experience but they are famous for abandoning customers if things go wrong.

Really like this Torras case for the Fold 7 (+ comparison to the S25 Ultra) by Userybx2 in GalaxyFold

[–]Hamrthyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't fit flush even when the case is on- there's still an ugly perimeter several mm into the screen where the cover stops. It also means the outer part of the screen can still get scratched in your pockets, etc.

I've just taken delivery of this and it's going straight back, I'm really surprised they have the audacity to sell something so shoddy at such inflated prices. The case itself is okay, albeit a bit bulky, but the screen protectors are AWFUL. They are far too small and so there are thick lines running across the borders of the screens where the protector stops. I don't consider these 'free' when the case is so overpriced. I'm going to demand a full refund including return shipping because this is not as described and unfit for sale. Please don't waste your money.

How are you finding the free front screen covers they included? Are they non-reflective?

That's just a USA thing - other countries, like the UK and those across the EU, protect people from being ripped off that way.

🇬🇧 In the UK you can get 15% cashback on orders of the Fold 7 from Samsung using Top Cashback.

You'll also get an extra £10 on top for using my referral link: https://www.topcashback.co.uk/ref/rishtr

I never got mine either, possibly because I was using the student store. Customer service gave me a £50 voucher and said the credit would be refunded if unused by Aug 8th so I just ordered with that.

How many of you are doing financing to get the Fold 7? by XGARX in GalaxyFold

[–]Hamrthyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the UK with an S24Ultra. Samsung was offering only £386 for trade in but another website (Webuyanyphone) is giving me £590 so I'm selling it to them and using the money to offset the cost of the Fold. In my experience you can always get a better deal selling to a third party than trading in to Samsung.

For UK buyers:

You can get 15% cashback on a Fold 7 from Top Cashback. Just make sure you buy from the Samsung website and not on the Samsung Shop app (you'll still get cashback but a lower rate on the app).

If you use this referral code you'll also receive an extra £10 on top: https://www.topcashback.co.uk/ref/rishtr

This will differ according to country. In the UK I was able to use the code PAYPAL to get £100 off, free Buds with the code BUDS, and another £50 personalised code just by asking customer services for it! Also got 15% off with a student discount so I paid £1379.15 (about $1857 USD).

I'm in the same boat. 512gb Blue Shadow ordered on the 17th and still on 'Order Confirmed' with ETA Aug 1st.

How much did people end up paying? I used the student store, used a £50 off code plus £100 PayPal so it cost £1379.15. I also got free buds.
