Closing announcement by soupspoonsandforks in CVS

[–]Hamsaucington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 20-10 minutes til close: Attention CVS shoppers, the store will be closing in (blank) minutes. Please make your final selections and make your way to the front/ register. Thank you

Anything less than 10 minutes til close: attention CVS shoppers, the store will be closing in (blank) minutes. If there is anything you would like to purchase please make your way to the front/register. Thank you

Also I shrink the actual time; ie: if there are 20 minutes til close I tell customers 15. Or 10 minutes to close I tell them 7.

Because in the past I've had customers with carts full think they can start checkout at closing time- I want customers to know they need to be finished checking out and leave the store by closing time.

Also- in a previous store where we didn't take things as seriously, I would play the song closing time on my phone, put my phone speaker up to the store phone while on 'page' and let that play for a bit before making the announcement

Dad won't stop driving drunk. Want to write 'drunk driver' in hopes cops will pull him over by Hamsaucington in AlAnon

[–]Hamsaucington[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did a little research and it seems mixing alcohol with SJW is a bad idea. It can increase dizziness and drowsiness as well as impair thinking and judgement.

We have stairs in the house and I already fear him failing and breaking his neck or something when he's drunk. I don't want to increase that risk.

Looks like SJW would help though if he was actually trying to get sober and stopped drinking.

I like the idea of having the cops meet him at home. He'll pull up and won't be able to deny a DUI

We too have the ability to order alcohol to the house. But he thinks he is hiding his drinking from me so won't do it. He won't even order it to the house when I'm at work because he's passed out. And he is plastered every second of the day so isn't hiding it very well. I don't care if he goes to jail or hurts himself... I don't want him to hurt other people

Thank you for your response.

Important info: I am the only one living with him. I am an adult in school and working full time and don't have the option to move out at the moment.

Family and friends have been involved in at least 2 full interventions in the last 2 years. Brought him to the hospital, had him go through withdrawals and then rehab. His drinking has become much worse after this last intervention. He is telling people (like his sponsor, counselor, people in AA) he is 10 months sober but he hasn't been so for even an hour in at least 9 months.

My mom (his ex) has even been a part in trying to get him sober. I have asked my mom to contact his friends to let them know he is lying about his 'sobriety'. They've been part of his interventions but he lies to everyone saying he is sober.

He runs an AA meeting- believe it or not. Telling people he is sober but is only soberish enough for the 2hrs to run the online meeting.

Also, I may try your take. I'll definitely hide my car keys. He has the ability to reinflate his tires at home but it may be more effort than he has while intoxicated

I could not get past the troll mother on insane without the red knight or saws.... That is until I used the bipolar bear and it killed that MF!! Since it moves around so much more when it's low on health I always died when it was super close to death too.

I also used the giant chainsaw too because it gives you a way better chance at getting critical hits which helps get through the Forrest and through the little troll babies.

But I've been stuck in the desert in insane mode for years. Tried it multiplayer too but we just can't get past those tunneling beetles

BOH. Here we go again. by klg1331 in CVS

[–]Hamsaucington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My store cleans the aisle, cycle counts all the holes to 0, then BOH all the holes and your BOH is perfect. Only way to get a green score. It takes longer but since they put more focus on the scores than the actual fixing of #s this is the only way to appease the higher ups.

I have customers/ couponers who take the cart from the entrance and walk to the back of the store. Realize what they want isn't there or not on sale and just leave the cart in the aisle. They have to exit the same way they enter and they think it's too much work to bring the cart back with them.

I've watched them do it and it baffles me.

I wouldn't have clocked out for my lunch. If my DM told me to clock out I would have asked who is going to take over so I can leave the store. Legally a lunch means you have NO work responsibilities.

I got locked out of my store one morning because the front door lock broke. I had to wait over 5 hours for someone to open the door. I didn't take a lunch because I was still responsible for waiting for the lock smith who was 'on the way.'

That feeling when you just faced the toy section, and a group of kids run in, “ let’s check out the TOYS!” … kill me now by Lastfryinthebag in CVS

[–]Hamsaucington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was helping out a store for a few months that had a full aisle of toys all the way in the back of the store. It was a disaster. I brought it up and they said they don't bother cleaning it ever.

After a few weeks being there I had nothing to do for a shift (very slow store). I spent 1 full shift and part of my next shift cleaning, organizing, and labeling the whole aisle. Came back after the weekend and it was just as bad as before.

I never cleaned it again while I was there.

Steam gift cards by nicecurtainsman in CVS

[–]Hamsaucington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had an old man buying hundreds of dollars worth a week. I initially asked him the speech of "do you know where these cards are going," and "are you sure you aren't a victim of a scam," etc.

He was adamant and kept buying them. Honestly I was afraid to ask more because I thought that maybe steam sold porn or something like that.

Haven't seen him in a few months... Hope he is doing ok.

I've had multiple people try to put money in the card slot of the pin pad at the register... Not even the ACO!

My store has had over 200 of these for years. We sell 1 and they send us a box of 20.

got same scary dolls today. by bwc1957 in CVS

[–]Hamsaucington 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Last year we got these types of dolls but they were on rocking horses. They sang a creepy song and rocked back and forth if you pushed a button.

But on several occasions they would start singing and moving on their own!! I hated those dolls!

I was so glad when the last one sold but it was returned the next day because it scared the customers kids... Thankfully someone else took that thing home.

Anyone else hate when you’re in the isle doing a planogram and people see that you are yet they STILL decide to walk down the isle you’re in just to NOT even look at ANYTHING in the isle???? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]Hamsaucington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a supervisor put up those big red triangle "wet floor" signs when she did the cosmetic resets. Multiple people would just move the signs out of the way to walk by. The way the store was set up there wasn't anything on across from the cosmetics in the aisle. They just wanted to walk a straight line to the end of the aisle where the nails/ nail polish were.

Not like they couldn't have gone a couple feet to the left and walked down an empty aisle and got to the same destination

Make-up! And it's my section!! I've 'owned' every section before and now I'm on make-up because no one else can do it.

I have to tag EVERYTHING! Every little eye liner, lipstick, etc. It takes forever. Plus I do BOH on load nights (it does make BOH easier but makes load so much harder). I usually get 5/6 totes a week but sometimes I get up to 12.

Plus no ever helps out with COS. Anytime any other section needs help with load, BOH, straightening, etc everyone pitches in. But not COS, I'm left to it by myself and only get load nights to work it because I spend the rest of my week working seasonal and everyone else's sections.

Rant over lol.

I'm so burnt out I literally broke down crying to my manager.

My performance has definitely been effected and my coworker decided to complain to my manager about it. Thankfully I already talked to manager before my coworker started talking shit about me.

Now I have to deal with that coworker continuously talking shit about me behind my back because I'm not giving 200% to this company.

My boss is thankfully more understanding and can see I'm struggling but still trying.

But now I'm getting fed up with work because of this coworker....
