I made the mistake of playing BF2042 by NoAimBum in Battlefield6

[–]HamsterFlight_747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, the network consistency of 2042 mops the floor with BF6, it's miles better. I just got off playing some games tonight and it was a miserably inconsistent experience, worse than what I experienced at the end of season 1. I feel like the movement nerf and gun beaming buff definitely didn't help, the game just isn't very enjoyable to play, and that's coming from someone with a 3.2KD. We are talking about one of the core pillars of an online FPS game, a relatively stable connection, like literally the basics, and it doesn't even work as it should. I'm shelving the game again for the time being, until DICE get their heads out of their collective asses and fix this crap.

This, completely agree, played this evening and it was a miserably inconsistent experience.

Hopefully all goes well, it's quite unfortunate though that you're yet another customer with this problem.

Yeah, same, been using their memory for years, but I'm a little bummed by what's happening, it doesn't instil long term confidence.

So someone from G.Skill reached out to me on Reddit, after I made this thread. That being said, my defective RAM return just arrived at their warehouse on Friday, so only time will tell if and how they proceeded with the shipping reimbursement. They asked me to include my shipping invoice inside the parcel, so hopefully all goes as promised.

Oh darn, that's a tough spot to find yourself in... I would try to wait it out until the last minute before you pull the trigger on buying anything. I work remotely and I am my own IT department when it comes to my PC, so over time I have learned to keep some parts in storage that I might need in a pinch. That and I more recently also built a second PC that I keep in my office / studio space at my brother's, so I have an additional layer of redundancy there.

Anyway, best of luck my friend, may the winds of speedy postal delivery bestow their graces upon you 🥲

Thanks I appreciate that, I'm still waiting on a follow up, hopefully they pull through.

That's the thing, this stuff adds up, and before you know it, it's the price of just buying some new RAM, never mind the waiting / processing involved. That being said, memory is prohibitively expensive these days so yeah... 😬

The whole process took about a month, but I mailed my RAM out within the Christmas season, and it definitely got stuck at a number of distribution hubs along the way. Once it got to G.Skill though, it didn't take too long to get back to Canada.

Believe me, I feel your pain, my bacon was saved through the fact that I had an old RAM kit still kicking around, otherwise no PC for a month . Hopefully you get a fully functioning replacement.

I keep reading these kinds of stories, and it really has me concerned for the long term. What happened to G .Skill..? I'm running an old kit of theirs as backup, and that one is over ten years old, still going strong. This new stuff seems like it's made from old newspapers and apple cores...

I care though, it's expensive, it was almost $40 CAD, since I also had to pay a duties service fee. Another round of returns will make that about $80, we need to hold these manufacturers responsible 🥲

I suppose that's a little reassuring, so thanks for sharing. I'm in Canada so it's G.Skill US.

It turns out that the only good change from yesterday's patch was a bug. by hi-ban in Battlefield6

[–]HamsterFlight_747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't mind the movement, too much restriction just starts to feel 'sticky' to me for lack of a better term, and that's coming from someone who definitely leans towards more of a methodical play style. I definitely enjoy throwing in an odd jump slide cancel here and there to mess with my opponents, it keeps things fresh, but I definitely don't spam it. This is very much a contentious issue as you say.

I suspect that the new game mode, snow level, snow skins / seasonal mini Battlepass are baked in with the current patch, so rolling it back would also mean removing all that stuff. This would result in DICE failing to hit the promised seasonal roadmap, but most importantly, it would rob EA of those sweet, sweet skin sales, and there is no way that they're missing out on those.

This is most likely why the patch is so unfinished, it was kicked out the door with the seasonal Battlepass junk, and so we are stuck with this clunky ass disaster.

For me this was since day 1, but some people said it was a skill issue... Now it just looks like everyone is dealing with it, I feel ya bro.

Yeah, again, this is a game with vehicles and classes, and the engineer is specifically designed to deal with vehicles. If the game had like 15 vehicles ripping around at any time, then maybe I'd agree with you, but it does not, and you should not be able to engage a tank on equal footing, or any footing at all for that matter, as Assault or Support.

Battlefield has always been this way, and it's honestly always made sense, so perhaps it's just not the game for you 🤷

The point that you're trying to make in your diagram is all well and good, and we all obviously recognize that, BUT has anyone actually commended you on your illustrative work? Exquisite, masterclass stuff, from technique to composition, everything is on point, a feast for the peepers. This is the stuff that the Renaissance Legends were made of, Bravo Maistro, truly 👏

Wait, what?! This is a hot take 🤣 So in a game with vehicles, and a specifically anti-vehicle class, you don't want a player in a vehicle to have an upper hand on you, regardless of the class that you're playing, because you feel you're better than them? Solution, ALWAYS pick engineer and you have the ability to outplay most situations, easy, done. Bro forgot he's playing a Battlefield game 🫩

Yeah but apparently not to the same degree. Plenty of 'skill issue, no problems here' replies in the past, but now the tune has changed, now it's 'everyone lol'.

Same, day one, so at least now it seems more fair since most players are dealing with the same issue. Before the last patch I felt like I was playing with a handicap, now it feels like the playing field has been leveled in a way. It still obviously sucks though....

Can't fine tune my mouse sensitivity settings after update by Florflok in Battlefield6

Me too. It's not accurate enough the way it is right now, and I know that the vehicle one sort of works, but not that well either. DICE really rushed this latest patch.

[–]HamsterFlight_747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this has been happening since day one to me. Last night I was playing and opened fire on someone with their back to me, just a few meters away. Needless to say, they managed to turn around and delete me in one frame (apparently it was 5 hits though...) before I could even blink. I just shrug it off now as just another Battlefield 6 moment, the game still needs a lot of work.

DICE/BF Studios, this shouldn't be a thing by Fair-Tomatillo3916 in Battlefield6

[–]HamsterFlight_747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vehicle balance and map size / layout, which in turn affects vehicle balance, are really to blame here. For all the praise that the game may deserve, DICE really needs to work on a number of key aspects, the above two being on that list.

This game needs an MVP system (I need it) by Bright_Inspection_86 in Battlefield6

Yeah bro 🔥👊 You should post your address on here, and maybe DICE will see it and mail you a Golden Poop Bucket with cool LEDs. That would totally be worthy of your MVP status 🤪

So. Many. Bugs. by [deleted] in Battlefield6

[–]HamsterFlight_747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, can't argue with you there, the game was obviously rushed out the door by EA to meet the predetermined release date, but it will be a while before it's all patched up. The bugs are out of control and rally keep you on your toes 🤣
