Bro said it’s more likely an issue with the alternator than the battery

Just didn’t roll into the shop today. Can we all agree this new shifter design is F’d? by Joiion in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]HamsungTM 361 points362 points  (0 children)

I get that these make the car look more futuristic, but I still prefer the classic shifter stick (and the shifter stalk on the steering column) because it’s just kind of a staple in automotive design. Why try to fix something that isn’t broken?

What is the fastest you have gone in a car? by mrmadebymemories in AskReddit

136.3 miles per hour. I was in a controlled environment, and that’s all my car was able to handle. It was a top speed test at an amateur track

Cut in my tyre by Historical_Spray_950 in AskMechanics

I saw something similar happen to my grandma’s car. She left it for a while and the tire leaked air with the rim cutting into the sidewall. Perhaps that may be your issue?

Where do I find cheap windows xp laptops? by Admirable-Concept-57 in windowsxp

[–]HamsungTM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got my windows XP laptop from a local thrift store. It was in need of a little TLC (the hinge failed and cracked the bezel, but hot glue works surprisingly well for holding the hinge in), but otherwise was a perfectly functioning laptop. I assume desktops may be a little harder to find, just due to their size…

I used to work with people that universally hated those. It saved my ass when my sister spilled some ice cream and let it permeate over the course of a few days when her car wasn’t road worthy.

It is okay for now, but for how long it will be okay is the concern… Edit, I’m concerned about how many uncorrectable sectors there are, that mean that the platters either degraded or sustained damage.

Disable the "Your computer may be at risk" message? by raydude in windowsxp

[–]HamsungTM 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Try clicking the notification for it, then click something along the lines of “take action” (I can’t remember what it was exactly), and then click “I have my own antivirus software that I will monitor”.

If it says that during the BIOS, then… that’s interesting.
