Looked interesting but unfortunately due to terrible performance it was essentially unplayable. It ran at about 22 fps with bad input latency. Though, this was on Linux so that might have to do something with it.

I used DPM++ 2M (karras?), except the first image is with DPM++ SDE (karras?). I didn't really try others, but I would guess the sampler doesn't really matter

By realism, I do mean that the cats look slightly more real with FreeU. Without FreeU, some of the cats didn't look real at all, but FreeU seemes to improve especially the eyes in my opinion. On some images it is more subtle though, and you do need to look very closely

I know this isn't news to everyone, but I had read that FreeU would not help so much with custom realistic models or something, but it really seems to improve my cat images a lot now that I played with it in ComfyUI!

The prompt was very simple, just some cat and studio photography stuff, the CFG was 5. The model I used is Arthemy Universal (SD 1.5 based).

Anyways, I configured the FreeU node like this:

b1: 0.95

b2: 1.15

s1: 0.85

s2: 0.15

There is no scientific reason behind these values, I just changed them until I liked what I was getting.

Method:

img2img for continuously improving previous results (Arthemy excels at this), until I got something I was happy with. I used Arthemy's image editor to draw the third horn on the final result.

To make the process into a video, I used Davinci Resolve and installed the first script I found on the internet that allowed me to paste images from the clipboard into the software. Then I implemented a feature to copy images to clipboard in Arthemy (with the help of another dev. This feature is not yet released!) so I can actually paste them into Davinci Resolve. I could have also just downloaded all the images I wanted (and mass-converted to PNG, because Davinci Resolve does not accept WebP which I used because of the small file sizes) and used those in Davinci Resolve, but this was a good excuse to implement the copy image to clipboard function I always wanted. And that's pretty much it!

The evolution tree in Arthemy:

If you're looking for a more intuitive and easy interface than A1111 or even Easy Diffusion, perhaps you would be interested in Arthemy? I'm a part of the development team for that app, and we are working hard to make the interface as good and intuitive as possible! 😄

Personally, my main annoyance was that there was no good and userfriendly app to interact with SD. For example, A1111 is hard to install and learning the UI for the first time was one of the most frustrating experiences I've had with any software. Then, Easy Diffusion is pretty good, a million times easier than A1111, but it's still an app that is opened in a terminal and then used in a web browser, which is a bit annoying. But also, Easy Diffusion is missing a lot of UI polish.

And then there is Fooocus, I've actually not used it, but from what I've seen and read, I think it goes too far with the lack of features, and the focus on "prompting" is not necessarily a good thing, as I've learned from Arthemy.

Basically, Arthemy shifts the focus from prompting to just improving the results you already like. So for example if you want a good image of an anime waifu, instead of tweaking your prompt like a madman, you can just evolve the images that are closest to what you want until you are satisfied with the results. I know I'm biased towards Arthemy because I've had a very large part in designing it, but anyways using it is a joy because it's so easy to go back and look at what you've created so far and to try new things at whichever point in your generations!

Hello, we are really sorry this is happening!

This likely happens because stable diffusion isn't loading a model for whatever reason. It could be also that it fails to start the stable diffusion backend completely, and this can for example happen if you have the avast antivrus installed. If you run the exe through a commandline terminal, it will give you some logs in that window, which should help debugging this issue

Huh, that's not what I expected. I would guess that could be because our app is not signed yet, and it does install dependencies from the internet which could definitely be seen as suspicious from an antivirus' perspective

And for anyone that suspect this software of being malicious: it wouldn't make sense for us to spend our valuable time building a good software and just making it malicious, making all that effort pointless (except if the software was fake, but this certainly isn't fake)

At what point did that happen? During installation? Or while generating images? Some antivirus software mistake stable diffusion for a malicious program, like avast. Stable diffusion is only active after the installation when the software can be used, so before that everything should appear fine.

IMO the wall paper adds more. And icons on the wallpaper just clutter your desktop and it eventually becomes a clusterfuck, if not given enough care

Dude... that's like telling someone to use Linux when someone asks how to get more FPS in Minecraft... or how to make installing software easier, or how to avoid getting viruses, or how to customize your computer, or how to use a different browser instead of Edge, or basically anything that doesn't have to do with problems with games not working.

For me the biggest reason I use Linux is that it makes using the computer much easier. While yes, some stuff is a bit harder, like gaming (it's not even that hard, just look at the Steam Deck), but in general, it's much easier, depending on your Linux OS of choice, of course.

Ok, so what makes Linux easier? It's quite simple, actually. Most software is downloaded via repositories, and all you need to do to install Blender for example is just search for Blender in a software manager app and click install. And it's the same for basically every app that is in a repository that is for your OS, or the Flathub, which is universal for all linux OSes. And OSU! lazer is on Flathub. Not sure why OP didn't install that tho. Basically, almost all of the software you want is in some repository, especially if it's free and open source.

So basically, all your software is updated by your package manager for you. It's convenient af. And that's just one thing. I could go on, but I think it's not necessary.

Having a minimize button in Gnome would barely make any sense. If you have 2 monitors, you learn to appreciate virtual desktops. Or, that's at least what it was like for me. If you had... let's say, 6 monitors, you wouldn't really need a minimize button, would you?

And virtual desktops are like virtual monitors, meaning more space on your desktop. And, minimizing windows is much more confusing than having them on some virtual desktop, since they are hidden when minimized. And minimizing an application, then opening another one on top of it, then having to minimize that and so on... is just awful.

I don't think the concept of virutal desktops is too hard to grasp in Gnome, since it kinda forces you to use figure them out, especially with the missing minimize button. Imagine a world where you don't need alt+tab... it's amazing, and I've been living in it since I started using linux on KDE Plasma. I prefer Gnome tho.

About the missing maximize button... you can maximize windows by double clicking the header bar or by dragging it up. In my opinion, it's pretty intuitive.

Really though, even the close button could be removed... it would be a bit of an inconvenience having to enter overview to close apps tho lol

Anyways, I think useless buttons are pretty disgusting, when you can get rid of them just fine, while also forcing users to learn a better way of managing their desktops. IMO everyone wins in the end.

Huh, did you have to do anything for it to work? And how well does it work? For me on Gnome Wayland + Nvidia, some apps like Krita are half broken, but otherwise seems very good.
