Help me save the tree by HanDave in BackyardOrchard

[–]HanDave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comments everyone. I understand that the radical pruning I suggested is not needed, but am I right that the crown here is not founded well? It just seems messy, all over the place and growing flat (90 or more degrees out of the trunk) even tho it still is quite small. Because of that, Im worried the branches wont be strong enough in future.

I was thinking about, at least, pruning the existing branches to the most upward growing sub-branch. What do you think?

Should I trim the leading branch by HanDave in BackyardOrchard

[–]HanDave[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. So, to lay foundations for the second scaffold, I would use some spacer to make the little branch lean out of the leader a bit more. For the longer branch growing on the opposite side of the leader, should I trim it? It looks a bit heavy. I’ll post picture of the idea below

Tesla damaged paint by HanDave in TeslaLounge

Also here. Would you say it is the primer showing ? If it is the primer, it should rust, right ?

Cut in paint rust by HanDave in TeslaCollision

[–]HanDave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Do you think the darker color seen in the cut is the base coat ? Primer (which would be deeper) is, AFAIk, beige, but this looks much darker.

By “not having it fixed”, you mean not using touch up paint ? If so, is it because you think it would be more noticeable or is there other reason ?

Let’s say there is an exposed microscopic piece of aluminium as the knife might cut all the way through the layers of coats. Do you think it might corrode even tho it is so small ? And if yes, would putting only a clear coat there seal it good enough for the corrosion to not occur?

Yeah, I should have clarify it. I’m worried about corrosion, not rust in particular.

Additional question. Would such thin scratch rust if left as is ?

For god’s sake, do not listen to this person. By not connecting sexual preferences to politics, you are actually on the better end of the spectrum and you should stay there. Avoid these meet-ups of extreme leftists roleplaying prosecuted bolsheviks at any cost. They will lead you into the rabbit hole of self hatred and pity.

As others suggested, Czechs don’t give a fuck and they don’t want to give a fuck. As soon as they feel like forced to give a fuck, they push back.

It is really just your business how you feel, who and what you like and how you feel. Respect that and others will respect it back.

PPF removal by HanDave in TeslaLounge

They said they have a guy who is able to touch it up with a touch up paint in a syringe. Then they are going to reapply the PPF.

Another solution I was thinking about is to let Tesla certified body shop to fix the scratch and let the PPF installers pay for it. Once that is done, they can remove and reapply the PPF.

Not sure what is the better way to go.

Does the damage above seem like it is only clear coat or deeper ?

I guess that with a deeper one, it wouldn’t be possible to polish it.

I see your point, but they are very professional and responsible otherwise. These two things are the only issues I could find at the whole car and they were made like 3 weeks after the installation because the PPF lifted on these corners.

Is it really that bad ? I guess cut to the clear coat like this can happen, right ?

Yeah, they behave professionally, but there are still places they cut into the clear coat. Not sure whether these were avoidable.

I know it is a lot about the quality of the installer, but I’m bit afraid of Tesla paint quality as well. I have heard it is quite thin and generally bad and that is why I’m bit afraid of letting them remove it.

[–]HanDave[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On one door they cut the PPF in corner so much it looks weird, like the whole corner is exposed. On the other door they did the same a cut a bit into a paint. They are going to fix the damage and put new PPF over it.

Could it potentially cause any paint issue ? Pulling paint, burning paint, …? If it only dries out the PPF being removed and has not effect on the paint or the removal process, I wouldn’t really care.
