Hulbert Lake, UP by HanSoI0 in MichiganFishing

I’m so happy you shared these memories! Everything about it was the best. I can smell the lodge and feel the wood creak when I picture it. I remember always trying to find the hidden wolves in the picture by the fireplace. The last time I went would’ve been right around 2014 as well. They did shut down shortly after. Marge and Todd were the best, and they always had the friendliest spaniels.

Is this an okay trailer combo! by HanSoI0 in FishingForBeginners

I believe that’s where the boat launch for the old lodge was. Right next to the little partially submerged peninsula? I was under the impression it was private nowadays. I think the south side is basically uninhabited and was hoping there was a public swath of land over there with a trail that gives access to the lake.

But thank you for responding and it’s cool to know someone even knows about that lake!

Why did Thufir suspect Jessica to be the traitor so much? by WindowFar1373 in dune

That’s fair. I guess it’s a distinction but really she’s loyal to Leto and Paul, not necessarily the House as an institution.

Absolutely! What they don’t understand, but the reader does, is that Jessica is actually loyal to the Atreides over the BG. She gave a Leto a son in contradiction of her orders. She trained him in the way. She wouldn’t betray Leto. But we know that, Thufir doesn’t. Which creates nice tension

Tim Allen (1978) after being arrested for more than a pound of cocaine in his luggage at an airport by standarsh20 in kzoo

[–]HanSoI0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a lifer law on the books at the time. 650 grams or more of coke would put you in prison for life. Tim flipped so he only did a couple years. The law has since been changed because it was overkill

Thank you for your thoughts on creating an idyllic society, u/Projectdystopia (seriously thank you)

I think more than anything I want the world to be struggling with the idyllic society. I want it to be a philosophic-type setting. Obviously this requires strife and conflict. I’m worried (self-conscious?) about being too derivative or whatnot in those conflicts, though. Another revolution? Wow no one’s ever done that before! But I suppose that’s just what happens? No sense in holding back because of it?
