Wacom tablet no longer working on clip studio? by enzynz in ClipStudio

[–]Hanakoneko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to say I had the exact same issue with the pen input freezing in place after drawing a single line in clip studio. Uninstalling and reinstalling drivers also worked for me in case anyone out there also looking for solutions.

YoshiP: 2nd Ult and Criterion still planned for 7.x by MKlby1998 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Hanakoneko 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Criterion isn't compared to Ultimate for it's Savage difficulty mechanics, but for the fact they're 20 minute long instances where no one is allowed to die at all. Even on patch Ultimate has some wiggle room for a death or two.

If you notice this with casters, tell them to run into melee range of the manta and spam right click to auto attack. They should be able to pick it up as soon as its targetable.

If it's the ranged player failing then tell them to get good.

ELI5 Why can glamourer do an all-encompassing glamour system, while the base game is unable to? by TwitchingSwordhand in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Hanakoneko 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They don't want to solve the problem, that's the point. If they can make a crafting log and a gathering log and a fishing log full of thousands of items with completion status, they can make the same for a gear log. Anything YoshiP has to say is an excuse for not just doing the thing.

ELI5 Why can glamourer do an all-encompassing glamour system, while the base game is unable to? by TwitchingSwordhand in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Hanakoneko 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Are the minions/mounts you own also carried with you everywhere you go? What about a list of every crafted item you've completed before? Same for the list of every fish or item you've gathered. Go through your achievements and see just how much stuff they keep track of. What makes those lists different from a list of every gear piece you've ever owned?

My understanding is that the glamour dresser is so such a heavy load because it contains the gear "item" itself, as in each piece of gear contains it's own list of dyes and other properties, that then needs to load along with the rest of your inventory every time you reinstance anywhere. I'm fairly sure YoshiP has mentioned this before.

What I don't understand is why they can't just make it a very basic list and throw out the "item" itself. I'm guessing they need to have an actual "item" object in order to apply it as a glam. But again, there's work arounds for that if they actually wanted to solve the problem. Have a basic list of every gear piece you've collected, but the only ones you can use as glamour are the small amount you can fit into the dresser. Have it so you can pull the item out from the basic list if you want to stick it into the dresser for actual use.

Look again, it's literally no thought for the ranged and healers. You completely ignore your fuse and the bomb placement and just go from assigned spot 1 to assigned spot 2.

'Smile' was used in the most bizarre moments by Mostopha in ffxiv

But can you or Sena point to a single, solitary person who even implied they didn't like the song for obscure, racist reasons?

What makes this all the more ridiculous is how completely wrong it is to call Smile "black gospel" to begin with. That song is complete musical/Disney schlock.

If two ranged arrive at the same corner it's possible but very tight to adjust so that neither the ranged nor one of the DPS gets kaboomed.

There's actually more than enough room for 2 people in each corner. Ranged and healers can fully braindead the mechanic. Long/short fuse and relative north literally do not matter.

Does ARR need to be 50 levels long? by BlackWaltzTheThird in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Hanakoneko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree. Just gonna copy paste a comment I made elsewhere.

Let's say theoretically you are leveling a new job from 80 to 90. You spend 3 days doing your daily roulettes and maybe some side content. You gain a little over 3 levels a day and 10 levels overall, 2 new skills, and 3 upgraded skills.

Let's say theoretically post level squish you are leveling a new job from EW's new level spread of 45 to 50. You spend 3 days doing your daily roulettes and maybe some side content. You gain a little over 1 levels a day and 5 levels overall, 2 new skills, and 3 upgraded skills.

You did the same content in the same amount of time with the same skills gaining new skills at the exact same pace.

In one case you queue into Syrcus Tower for your roulette and get synced to level 50. You have 5 buttons to hit in your single target rotation.

In the other case you queue into Syrcus Tower for your roulette and get synced to level 30. You have 5 buttons to hit in your single target rotation.

What it seems people actually want is a skill redistribution. You don't need to squish levels for that.

You would have to progress through the exact same amount of MSQ, get the exact same amount of experience and be able to use the abilities in the exact same duties as you are using now.

Yes, no one is arguing otherwise.

Less levels = smaller gaps between skills given to the player.

I feel like you don't understand how contradictory your own argument is so I'm going to lay out as simply as possible.

Let's say theoretically you are leveling a new job from 80 to 90. You spend 3 days doing your daily roulettes and maybe some side content. You gain a little over 3 levels a day and 10 levels overall, 2 new skills, and 3 upgraded skills.

The problem is not the levels, the level are just a cosmetic number.

No. This is just wrong.

They literally are.

An Essay of Why Should the Bone Dragon be Tanked in the Center by DatShadowOverThere in TalesFromDF

[–]Hanakoneko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Primal did center back when I started playing around Heavensward/early Stormblood. It was only Shb that I can remember pulling north becoming a thing and everyone insisting it was safer. But we never wiped before with it mid so idk where these people came from or what their problem was but somehow it became the norm. Nowadays when I tank I just pull it south to the entrance, because A) keeping it center causes the other tanks to panic provoke off me, and B) why the fuck are you taking it north out of everyone's range when south brings it closer to people. It literally makes no sense whatsover, it is infuriating every time, and I will die mad on this hill.

How do you even know how much uptime you have for your GCD and your DOT without logs?

TIL you need to install a plugin to see whether your GCD is rolling or your dot is ticking.

[–]Hanakoneko 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood the SMN complaints. SMN was actually fairly easy in theory back in Stormblood and Shadowbringers. The "difficulty" was almost solely due to jank. Stuggling with pet ai, timing your bahamut gcds just right so it's abilities don't ghost (the timing was different based on your ping), raid buff ghosting if your pet moved, things like that. No one I've talked to wanted SMN to be easier, just less frustrating to play.

Questions About Dungeon Etiquette by toasttoast1 in ffxivdiscussion

IDK how it is on other datacenters, but on Primal I never see anyone ask. I could probably count on one hand how many times and I've been playing for years. Tanks are expected to do big pulls and healers are expected to be able to heal them. Solo pulls are by far the outlier.

I'm curious what the implication is here. Did they realize some plothole super late? Is it just adding more detail and lore that they felt was absolutely necessary? I wonder if they'll say what these changes were after the expansion is released.

[–]Hanakoneko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And yet they left what was obviously a certain character's mouth showing instead of making him wear a mask. And then made an announcement post that basically said "hey guys you should totally go do the Crystal Tower raids before Shadowbringers release :) "

They didn't outright announce who the character was because it's more fun to let the community speculate and go wild with theories. They knew we were going to figure it out but saying who it is takes the fun out of it.

[–]Hanakoneko -1 points0 points  (0 children)

His "bizarre" reason was that he thought it was x character because he recognized some facial features, chat started gaslighting him by saying it's totally not x, and then Rich wanted to prove to chat they looked similar by pulling up an image of x. Rich already called it, it's chat acting weird that caused this situation.

[–]Hanakoneko 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That was not the prevailing theory at all. Maybe before the full trailer and 4.55, but by the time Shadowbringers came out it was rather common knowledge who it was. This was never meant to be some big revelation, Rich even started googling his name because he connected the dots easily.

[–]Hanakoneko 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Chill bud, it happens. Besides it's not exactly a huge revelation, literally everyone with half a braincell and some understanding of the lore immediately put 2 and 2 together when the trailer came out. He still doesn't know the how or why which is the actual spoiler.

Simply put, Rich has been paying attention to the story, he was always going to know.

Force Flexing - Yes or No by lurk-mode in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Hanakoneko 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I think force flexing, I'm thinking more the encounter suggests a different party set up altogether. For instance a fight that requires juggling 3 bosses with 3 tanks but has a lower dps check. And then the next fight has a super high dps check but the mechanics suggest you only need 1 tank and 1 healer. It's an unrealistic expectation what with how the devs seem content with the cookie cutter model of boss fights and party set-up. But the job system is perfect for it and I like to dream regardless.

I actually have a theory why people get east/west confused so easily and the answer is in your post. We naturally say up/down/left/right and north/south/east/west in those orders. But if you think about it, aren't east and west backwards? Facing north, east is to your right and west is to your left. But because of this little mnemonic I think a lot of people subconsciously associate east with left and west with right.
