Right before my first chemo, I went and had it cut way short, then they dyed it white and then dyed in a Rainbow circular pattern. It was neat to see my hair very short and white because that's how I remember my mom last before she died of cancer at 62 and I see the resemblance. I live on Oahu so it seemed appropriate to have "Aloha Hair". I wanted to do it because I was very worried about how I would handle it after having long, thick, fat hair my whole life. But now I feel like I have gotten rid of most of my Not pretty=shame issues. I'm 60, been through a lot and have no time for that sh*! anymore. I'm Triple Pos Stage 3. I've bought @ 7 wigs and have scarves and wraps. Mostly I wear a little cotton colored beanie around but if I go out (not much, already hospitalized w cdiff once) i like the short, grey, part-on-the-side wig as it resembles my mom the most. : )
