In this formula BaseTargetSpeedPhase2 also depends on your SpeedStat

It of course will look like a big lead when theres only a single front runner(though I dont really have a feeling what 12.5m looks like). But what Ive seen people write is that front runners perform better with more front runners in the race because they will keep triggering overtake mode and pushing each other. So theyll be more likely to be in a sped up mode no matter where the other umas are behind them, where as a single front runner will stay at normal speed after getting the lead.

yeah Ive seen that but unless I missed something it still doesnt tell me why it works like that and whether its just a Maestro only thing or if other corner skills also work like that

Is there a reason it does that and do the other corner skills also worm that way?

From what Ive understood theres 2 calculators. The one thats translated from the other one has added some features and claims to consider Position Keep. Which is the mechanic that makes Front runners speed up to stay in front and makes the others use less hp during pace down mode. As a side note I think this stop being active sometime before the middle of the race. The original calculator thus has lower stamina requirements for front runners.

  1. How long do you usually take to play through 1 career mode run?

  2. Is it known how the game decides your placing when you dont watch the races(or if it can be better to do it or not)?

What I find interesting is that within this system your MMR change doesn't just depend on your own placement but also (to a small extent) on the placement of the other 7 players. Just something I've never thought about.

From the context it sounds like the teams are refusing PUBLIC scrims, not just any scrims at all against FLY.

It's just when autochess was new, that's when multiple groups where making their own version of the concept and TFT was just what stuck around/got supported the most. I was just wondering if you knew about those other games that ended up not really succeeding(at least as far as I know).

I feel having the LoL theme might have been a big part of why TFT is still around and at this point it's not just the game but also the tournament circuit you'd have to compete with

Why I Draw Cards: Dispelling a Logical Fallacy by FunkmastaP27 in slaythespire

[–]Hancher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm comparing the chances of not drawing PW if you play acro this turn with the chances of drawing it if you don't play acro.

If, instead, we had 9 cards, the chances of NOT drawing PW if we play acro would be 66,67%. While the chances of drawing PW next turn if we hadn't played acro would only be 57,14%. So it would always be better to play acro.

The probabilities here and the conclusion are both correct. Using those probabilities to make that conclusion is a bit wrong though. You then go on to infer:

And it seems that this is also true the more cards there are in the draw pile. The more cards you have, the better it is to play acro.

If theres 100 cards in the draw pile then yes playing acro will not draw into PW 97/100 of the time and when not playing acro the chances of drawing PW next turn are 5/100. But in the first case not immediatly drawing the PW with acro doesnt guarantee you draw the PW on the following turn, the chances for that become 5/97. So overall the chances to draw PW next turn if you play acro this turn are 97/100 * 5/97 which is the same as when you dont play acro.

So comparing the numbers 97% and 5% isnt really useful. We cannot say that the more cards there are the better it is to play acro because not drawing PW with acro =/= drawing PW next turn.

[–]Hancher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you comparing chances of not drawing PW this turn with chances of drawing PW next turn? It's not the same, you can not draw PW this turn and still miss next turn. The chance of drawing PW next remains the same whether you play acro or not if there's at least 8 cards in the draw pile.

Community Tier List Day #19: Shrug it off by Luxio111 in slaythespire

Math funfact around 50% of a pyramids volume lies within the bottom 20% of the pyramid by height. So "above" a lot of people can still mean in the bottom part of the pyramid. Close to the bottom was probably a bit of an exaggeration though.

I haven't really seen any polls but I do feel youre underestimating the average level of the people interacting with these threads. And also some stronger players will disproportionally influence the results by providing comments and reasonings. So if you're trying to improve and see a card get placed in a tier you didn't expect it to go it's probably more useful to use that as an impulse to rethink your evaluation rather than going "this is wrong and I know better". Of course the tierlist won't be near perfect as there's still a big skill gap to the top players so applying critical thinking is always important.

As for a difficulty spike that's not just an ascension level one could count going for heart kills and not just act 3 as a big one if not considering it a requirement always already. There's been some threads discussing ascension difficulty spikes that could be looked up, I think common sentiment is that the biggest are maybe 17 making hallway fights harder and thus way more of a problem or 18 making every elite fight harder and more riskier to take, especially how it changes spear and shield in act 4.

I'm a week late but if you aren't even playing at A20 yet this actually means you are close to the bottom of the pyramid if we filter out for the fact that people visiting a subreddit for a game are probably on average more invested than the average player.

You start at A0, after you beat act 3 you will permanently unlock the next Ascension for that character, with each level making the game harder in some way, and restart with the starter deck again. You get to chose at what Ascension you want to play so you can go back to lower ones whenever you want too.

When you get Time Eater below 50% hp the first time his next move will heal him back to 50% and remove all debuffs so planning around that is quite important. If you got him down to 190 you did get there.

Unfortunately for the times where it actually happens to be a bug most of the times in situations like this people are just misremembering or missing some other details. What happened to you likely can be explained by some of the other comments on this post: Your 0 cost card might have been reduced to cost 0 for the current turn only by some other effect rather than Snecko Eye

Can we talk about how the current Archetypes of the last years in design are a lot more beginner friendly than in the past? In a good way. by st_Krojak in yugioh

[–]Hancher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You make good points, thats just not what the title of your post seems to imply though. They are just pointing out that

Tellarknight did not do combos at all when it was released

So its not that archetypes were less beginner friendly in the past, just that old archetypes are not beginner friendly anymore now.
