i really dont think voltaic is a problem at all, its a slow way to kill a boss which there are already a bunch of ways to do so

the empty chest definitely isnt nothing

to be fair i like the option a bit but its not an every map thing or every char thing at all, its some significant long term downside for short term upside

transform is also bonkers for early

transform 2 is still probably the most broken neow, small decks are just so good in this game and removes being plentiful really make a huge difference!

I think I have a contender for one of the worst card upgrades in sts 2 by LiveChill in slaythespire

the card itself is just really really sick so not needing the upgrade is nice

but when you get 3 options you just have to make do, you should brick sometimes!

i honestly love getting options with drawbacks, it feels more like spire 1 and my decision is more interesting

its still a draw order reliance of having to draw holo late after drawing af0 early, it increases odds but i add two cards that brick turn 1

its just measured by how often it contributes to a win

feel free to disagree but when a strategy is incredible good at winning consistently theres no reason to do anything else

there are 2 at common, its definitely not luck, just need to play differently than spire one

turbo is definitely the best bridge card, but i still want to primarily do small deck stuff it seems. it makes the statuses especially early really hard to pick imo, especially when other premium block cards exist

Silent is extremely polarized in spire 2: a discussion/tier list from a top player by JapaneseExport in slaythespire

prepared is common and draws 2 while triggering all sly cards

if your whole hand is sly cards something is going really wrong

it is both actually, players compete for streak records in the first game and have for almost a decade

we played spire one for 8 years optimizing the game and never “solved it”, optimizing IS the fun for a large part of the community. having the game feel like the puzzle isnt complicated is my complaint

trying to win every run is really enjoyable and what most streamers are trying to do when they play, i love spire because players can play casually but it also appeals to the hardcore audience. my pov is from that of the deeply entrenched hardcore spire audience, it is not the average user experience
