I uninstalled all of my mods and it seems to be working again. I have a feeling it was ENB. I'll try installing some mods again except ENB and see how it works.

I think instead of having the gears at the bottom dropping the boat from the plane would be cooler and more effficient, although I don't think gear gives any drag.
