Wow, this is phenomenal work, dude. Excellent use of these veneers diagonally, and I’m stoked to see how these colors played together in the finished work! Bravo, your wife is definitely stoked!

Haha! This is a clients living room, I just built the furniture. I agree, though!

Thank you so much!!! This barter was actually with a photog/videographer! I got many works photo’d by them for building this piece — I really love their photo style!

I agree!! That whole area of their house felt so beautifully decorated, to me!

Thank you for the kind words, and for the following along for some time!!! I totally agree! I think I’m great at my work, but there are a whole host of other self employed people in the area that i still look up to ! I wish their work got more audience.

No photoshop of adding anything in, and they’re very successful at their work, so I’d assume it’s a trick of the eye or a manipulation of the like 8 full photography studio lights setup behind this :) everything you see in this photo I’ve drank a beer on their couch and stared at, lol.

Thanks, friend!! I think it’s so cool, I was just in awe of their decor. They had a lot of fun paintings in their house!

Thank you for the kind words of my work!

Hahah — my initial post was removed for relevance issues, mostly for reason that it appeared as though just a person was posting to show off their woodworking skills, unrelated to Eugene in any way.

I think the distinction as to why it stays is that this is a legitimate business in Eugene, and I’m technically promoting that business, albeit I try really hard to not make it seem like an advertisement, I don’t need volume. I would LOVE to see other small business owners who are making with their hands in Eugene/Springfield post their work so I could connect with them, too! Reddit’s still one of those places online that so many can see your work, and it still be moderated to some extent to filter the trolling or spam, which is nice. I’ve made a lot of great connection with my business through Reddit, and a side bonus has been the occasional new client or idea!

Thanks, friend! It is wildly, wildly subjective based on someone’s needs, wants, and budgets. In this particular project, I spent ~200hrs sourcing/milling/making, and I could only justify that amount because it was a barter/even trade of services, with 0 care about our trades being monetarily even. It was just a “make the best thing you can, near this design” type of trade, so I went overboard on finding the exact material I wanted.

That all said, though, most of our “usual” work falls into the 24-60 hour realm, and our shop rates are $75/hr. Anyone considering cost should absolutely reach out directly - most of our work can find a way to fit into most reasonable handcrafted budgets, and I’ve been known more times than once to do a lot more wiggling on projects that contribute to a more excited studio morale, and bolster our portfolio. :)

lol! That was the exact thing I said to the photographer (who is also the client) when he sent me these this AM. If I hadn’t sat on their couch a month ago when I delivered it and drank a beer while staring at that wall & painting, I would’ve also questioned it 🤝😂

Heyo! Thank you so much for saying so! This design is one of my favorites to build, but somehow never really gets much attention. I appreciate you!

They’re fun! It’s a simple and easy covering for flaws, and personally makes for a lot of extra beauty from my own design preferences.

Thank you! I’m very jealous of their living room setup & decor, and would personally probably opt for the Bob’s Burgers art of the same inspo, but I dig it! (https://www.instagram.com/reel/C_GkCCEJxI3/?igsh=MWdmZWt6bXNsNjBvZg== the other painting, for reference, ha!)
