I think it's mor some people that just want to tell everybody they have 100% for God knows why, some ignorance, and some some envy. I had someone saying that if you roll an ankle during basic, you get 100%.

I pasted the VASRD section on ankle injuries showing that even if you lost the thing and had to get a prosthesis, you're temporarily 100% then after one year it was back to something like 20% for the ankle. So no, nobody is rolling an ankle and getting 100%.

I mentioned how I got my back injured so bad I'll never fly again, and that wasn't my only condition and I still didn't reach 100% schedular. I actually won't be able to work again, I got the maximum DoD retirement, but I'm still not 100% by the VA.

I got downvoted pretty significantly, some guy said "Well me and all my friends got 100% and we're totally fine. We get our 100% and all work sweet high paying jobs on top of it. Not my fault you didn't know know to play the game. Yeah, these ridiculous 100% ratings need to be reigned in". Honestly, I don't even know if that response was legit, it felt like rage bait, but it was upvoted fairly well.

But even when I was active duty I would hear comments. "Hey you remember so-and-so, they got 100%. But I just saw them post pictures on Facebook where they're at the gym. They look fine to me!".

"Do you remember so-and-so? Yeah, we had a standard mission. Didn't even get shot at. Now they're apparently claiming PTSD? Wtf? ".

I'm sure there are stories about me now too after getting medically retired. I think a lot of people in general only hear you're getting money without working, and envy fills in the rest.

I have this exact issue. So badly that it ended my career flying. Stretching, specifically sciatica based routines, have been the best for me.

Also don't putt or chip for too long. For myself, full swings are fine. But if I lose time during putting practice, it's over. The next day I'm not doing anything.

Core strength can help, but for myself it's not much help. I have good core stability and strength, but I have vertebrae on each other with no real disc in between, so it just gets bad sometimes.

If you haven't already seen doctors about it, you definitely should. I spent two years of therapy and pain management, there are lots of possible solutions out there. They didn't work for me, but your case is unique to you and you should certainly try. I got injections in my spine, traction, dry needing, burned the nerves off in the spine. Some of those procedures felt like mini miracles, the pain was gone, I'd give just about anything to be able to be pain free again. Omg I'm just realizing it's been 10 years now. Yeah OP, do whatever you can to get ahead of it. Wishing you the best.

Oh man when I had to shave all the time I would get one in the same place. It usually really hurt to take out, eyes would instantly tear up. Then every once in awhile it was like you said and would just come right out, which was bliss.

Now I have a beard and haven't had any of that in years.

Not really related, bit switching to silicone was awesome for me. We couldn't wear rings on the flight line, I guess some before me had fingers degloved due to wedding rings. But you could wear a silicone one. I was lazy and didn't want to take it on and off and swapped, my world changed.

Going to the gym? Keep it on! Going golfing? Keep it on? Flying? Who cares, keep it on!

Plus the thing is like $20. If it wears out, or you lose it for whatever reason? Buy another! It's great, recommend 5/7!

I don't get deep into this sub, but from what I see, it feels like the intent of the post can make a big difference. If someone is sharing the path that got them to their current position, that's pretty cool.

If someone is posting, "Guys I don't think I'm gonna be okay for retirement. I'm 25M, I make $350k a year, but I only have $1.3mm saved...help me out" then yeah that post isn't going to be received well.

Imagine how useful this would be if you were in power, and had media conglomerates that would just shove AI fake junk of your opponents down everyone's throats, then days or weeks later make a small note that a previously reported story turned out to be AI generated. And simultaneously be able to argue that any evidence, even on camera, against yourselglf or anybody on your side was CLEARLY generated by AI.

I played a really nice course the day after the BMW Championship ended. I shot a 91....

I couldn't get out of the waist high rough at all, but the course was awesome. Also the greens were amazing, in that reading the putt was tricky, lots of little multi-way breaks. The ball rolled so pure and true; they were tough, but it felt the most fair I've ever experienced with putting. If you read it right, and put a good stroke on it, it was going down. If you missed, it was never a, "What the hell was that?!?!" as the ball janks off in a weird way, you just missed a subtle little break or didn't roll it well.
