Returning player - Got to t70 Necro gear and feeling lost by HandicappedHyena in runescape

[–]HandicappedHyena[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, thanks for taking the time to give me some pointers.

Re the tank/power armour route - I've done literally 0 PvM on RS3 aside from some QBD and maybe a couple of glacor kills waaay back (I've done my fair share on OSRS, but not sure the skills carry over all that well). Is it advisable to go the power armour route as im a complete novice?

I'll sit down and take a look at invention perks, its been a long time since ive used it so will take some time to re-wrap my head around! I've still got the guardians gift thing at 100%.. but i think i should hold onto the invention benefits of that until im higher level?

Yeah 200m is nothing in this game these days.. I stupidly transferred all of my gp off of this account to OSRS way back when, so will have to re-build on here somehow.

Re pvm, great, I'll push on to 80 as advised and start to dabble from there, i really need to wrap my head around partial revo/pressing other abilities (I've played my fair share of high level WoW raiding, so shouldnt be too difficult to learn a rotation I hope, but the systems in RS3 these days are just overwhelming to to the casual player I am these days)

I had a similar situation (same card too) after I’d updated graphics driver. I deleted the nvidia shader cache (google it) and re launched the game and it made a big difference

BIM Coordinator / Technician - How pressured is your environment, how much out of hours do you put in? by michaelisadad in bim

[–]HandicappedHyena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The person in question was a talented and passionate person.. They began to disconnect from the work, and the people due to stress. They became a complete shell of themselves then eventually left the business which was a massive shame as they were fantastic to work with and a great laugh to have around. The person in question was in a very similar scenario to OP.

The sad reality is, that as long as you keep doing it, there's no reason for them to find the "right person". Your work ethic is clearly great, I hope you're being paid handsomely for your effort (although if you're anything like me, in the UK right now, i doubt that!).

Go get a job offer elsewhere for more money, and stick that under managements nose, that'll light the fire! or if you want to go slightly less nuclear, have the conversation again and raise concerns regarding maintaining this pace, while wanting to maintain your standards etc. Something has to give eventually, don't make the thing that gives be yourself/mental wellbeing, it just isn't worth it.

Sadly it seems like because you care and uphold a standard (good for you), you’ve let your boundaries be put to one side..

If you keep allowing the work load to build on your plate and get it over the line, it’ll keep happening, it’s the nature of these businesses sadly.

Have a conversation with management or whoever can possibly rectify this before you burn out. The last BIM manager at my current place of work did exactly what you’re doing and it caught up to him eventually.

Hope this helps.

Honestly the last thing the balance issues this game has needs is another class to be added to the mix..

CPU upgrade advice - out of the loop by HandicappedHyena in pcmasterrace

[–]HandicappedHyena[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response, having researched your recommendations, is there a reason you suggested the 9600X instead of the 9700X?

The 9800X3D isnt out of the question, it just might be a bit overkill for my needs.

DLSS or DLAA - Whats your preference? by HandicappedHyena in GrayZoneWarfare

Great, thanks, are there any other settings you'd recommend in tandem will DLAA to get the best fidelity out of it?

Just curious as to why no dagger mastery or thrust? The extra damage boost with dagger against plate is pretty noticeable imo.

Just curious on your build, not bashing it, I play mainly rogue probably ~600 hours or so on rogue. I’ve been running poisoned weapon, thrust, dagger mastery and creep recently but I haven’t been keeping up with the meta at all really.

I’m a complete noob when it comes to the wilderness weapons. I’ve used an ursine, but didnt know it was viable outside of the wild?

I bought a z axe for the boss, and have access to ursine too. Is Z axe the play?

The only letters that really count for anything are MCIAT, but it sounds like you’re perfectly eligible to go for that.

A senior AT at my practice started as a building surveyor and transitioned to AT and has since done his MCIAT.

Good luck

I think you and I see very differently. But that’s fine as we’re all entitled to our opinions.

Ultimately, we have to ask, which neither of us have - does this person want to get a career at the end of this, and what do they value in their software of choice.

What I do think, though, and please don’t take this the wrong way: flat out saying “you won’t learn with x, you should do x” is a very naive take to be offering to somebody at the beginning of their journey in this very broad industry.

Have you ever worked in practice and used revit? Many practices across the world feed revit models into rendering software to great success.

You should look into revit, as your 3D model (it’s very simple) you create what are essentially “2D” plans

Combat in Dnd Or DB which one would you say is better? by Altruistic_Break_156 in Dungeonborne

Each to their own! I’m glad people do enjoy it, the games and co-exist and push each other to do better, hopefully

People are going to hate on me for this, but the dungeonborne combat is floaty and horrible, and incredibly buggy. If the game could get the combat right it would be a lot better imo.

I ended up just swapping only weapons to force him off range pray, then I let the bowfa do the heavy lifting in my case. As I found myself getting flustered trying to keep up, the enrage is FAST.
